1 In the first year of Darius, the son of Ahasuerus of the seed of Media, who was crowned over the kingdom of the Chaldeans.		אבִּשְׁנַ֣ת אַחַ֗ת לְדָֽרְיָ֛וֶשׁ בֶּן־אֲחַשְׁוֵר֖וֹשׁ מִזֶּ֣רַע מָדָ֑י אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָמְלַ֔ךְ עַ֖ל מַלְכ֥וּת כַּשְׂדִּֽים:
2 In the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, contemplated the calculations, the number of the years that the word of the Lord had come to Jeremiah the prophet, since the destruction of Jerusalem seventy years.		בבִּשְׁנַ֚ת אַחַת֙ לְמָלְכ֔וֹ אֲנִי֙ דָּֽנִיֵּ֔אל בִּינֹ֖תִי בַּסְּפָרִ֑ים מִסְפַּ֣ר הַשָּׁנִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֨ר הָיָ֚ה דְבַר־יְהֹוָה֙ אֶל־יִרְמִיָ֣ה הַנָּבִ֔יא לְמַלֹּ֛אות לְחָרְב֥וֹת יְרֽוּשָׁלִַ֖ם שִׁבְעִ֥ים שָׁנָֽה:
3 And I turned my face to the Lord God to beg with prayer and supplications, with fasting and sackcloth and ashes.		גוָֽאֶתְּנָ֣ה אֶת־פָּנַ֗י אֶל־אֲדֹנָי֙ הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים לְבַקֵּ֥שׁ תְּפִלָּ֖ה וְתַֽחֲנוּנִ֑ים בְּצ֖וֹם וְשַׂ֥ק וָאֵֽפֶר:
4 And I prayed to the Lord my God, and I confessed, and I said, “Please, O Lord, O great and awesome God, Who keeps the covenant and the loving- kindness to those who love Him and keep His commandments.		דוָֽאֶתְפַּלְלָ֛ה לַֽיהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהַ֖י וָֽאֶתְוַדֶּ֑ה וָאֹֽמְרָ֗ה אָ֥נָּ֚א אֲדֹנָי֙ הָאֵ֚ל הַגָּדוֹל֙ וְהַנּוֹרָ֔א שֹׁמֵ֚ר הַבְּרִית֙ וְֽהַחֶ֔סֶד לְאֹֽהֲבָ֖יו וּלְשֹֽׁמְרֵ֥י מִצְו‍ֹתָֽיו:
5 We have sinned and have dealt iniquitously; we have dealt wickedly and have rebelled, turning away from Your commandments and from Your ordinances.		החָטָ֥אנוּ וְעָוִ֖ינוּ הִרְשַׁ֣עְנוּ (כתיב והִרְשַׁ֣עְנוּ) וּמָרָ֑דְנוּ וְס֥וֹר מִמִּצְו‍ֹתֶ֖יךָ וּמִמִּשְׁפָּטֶֽיךָ:
6 And we have not obeyed Your servants, the prophets, who spoke in Your name to our kings, our princes, and our forefathers, and to all the people of the land.		ווְלֹ֚א שָׁמַ֙עְנוּ֙ אֶל־עֲבָדֶ֣יךָ הַנְּבִיאִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֚ר דִּבְּרוּ֙ בְּשִׁמְךָ֔ אֶל־מְלָכֵ֥ינוּ שָׂרֵ֖ינוּ וַֽאֲבֹתֵ֑ינוּ וְאֶ֖ל כָּל־עַ֥ם הָאָֽרֶץ:
7 To You, O Lord, is the righteousness, and to us is the shamefacedness as of this day, to the people of Judah, to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to all Israel both near and far, in all the lands to which you have driven them for the treachery that they have perpetrated toward You.		זלְךָ֚ אֲדֹנָי֙ הַצְּדָקָ֔ה וְלָ֛נוּ בֹּ֥שֶׁת הַפָּנִ֖ים כַּיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה לְאִ֚ישׁ יְהוּדָה֙ וּלְיֹֽשְׁבֵ֣י יְרֽוּשָׁלִַ֔ם וּלְכָל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֞ל הַקְּרֹבִ֣ים וְהָֽרְחֹקִ֗ים בְּכָל־הָֽאֲרָצוֹת֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר הִדַּחְתָּ֣ם שָׁ֔ם בְּמַֽעֲלָ֖ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר מָֽעֲלוּ־בָֽךְ:
8 O Lord, to us is shamefacedness, to our kings, to our princes, and to our forefathers, who sinned against You.		חיְהֹוָ֗ה לָנוּ בֹּ֣שֶׁת הַפָּנִ֔ים לִמְלָכֵ֥ינוּ לְשָׂרֵ֖ינוּ וְלַֽאֲבֹתֵ֑ינוּ אֲשֶׁ֥ר חָטָ֖אנוּ לָֽךְ:
9 To the Lord our God are the mercies and the pardons, for we have rebelled against Him.		טלַֽאדֹנָ֣י אֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ הָרַֽחֲמִ֖ים וְהַסְּלִח֑וֹת כִּ֥י מָרַ֖דְנוּ בּֽוֹ:
10 And we have not hearkened to the voice of the Lord our God, to follow His teachings, which He placed before us by the hand of His servants, the prophets.		יוְלֹ֣א שָׁמַ֔עְנוּ בְּק֖וֹל יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ לָלֶ֚כֶת בְּתֽוֹרֹתָיו֙ אֲשֶׁר נָתַ֣ן לְפָנֵ֔ינוּ בְּיַ֖ד עֲבָדָ֥יו הַנְּבִיאִֽים:
11 And all Israel have transgressed Your teaching, turning away, not heeding Your voice, and the curse and the oath, which are written in the Law of Moses, the servant of God, have befallen us, for we have sinned against Him.		יאוְכָל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל עָֽבְרוּ֙ אֶת־תּֽוֹרָתֶ֔ךָ וְס֕וֹר לְבִלְתִּ֖י שְׁמ֣וֹעַ בְּקֹלֶ֑ךָ וַתִּתַּ֨ךְ עָלֵ֜ינוּ הָֽאָלָ֣ה וְהַשְּׁבֻעָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֚ר כְּתוּבָה֙ בְּתוֹרַת֙ מֹשֶׁ֣ה עֶֽבֶד־הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים כִּ֥י חָטָ֖אנוּ לֽוֹ:
12 And He has confirmed His word, which He spoke about us and about our judges who judged us, to bring upon us a great evil, which was not done under all the heavens, as was done in Jerusalem.		יבוַיָּ֜קֶם אֶת־דְּבָר֣וֹ | (כתיב דְּבָרֹ֣יו) אֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּ֣ר עָלֵ֗ינוּ וְעַ֚ל שֹֽׁפְטֵ֙ינוּ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר שְׁפָט֔וּנוּ לְהָבִ֥יא עָלֵ֖ינוּ רָעָ֣ה גְדֹלָ֑ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹֽא־נֶֽעֶשְׂתָ֗ה תַּחַת כָּל־הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֥ר נֶֽעֶשְׂתָ֖ה בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָֽם:
13 As is written in the Law of Moses, all this evil has come upon us, and we did not entreat the countenance of the Lord our God to repent of our iniquities and to contemplate Your truth.		יגכַּֽאֲשֶׁ֚ר כָּתוּב֙ בְּתוֹרַ֣ת מֹשֶׁ֔ה אֵ֛ת כָּל־הָֽרָעָ֥ה הַזֹּ֖את בָּ֣אָה עָלֵ֑ינוּ וְלֹֽא־חִלִּ֜ינוּ אֶת־פְּנֵ֣י | יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ לָשׁוּב֙ מֵֽעֲו‍ֹנֵ֔נוּ וּלְהַשְׂכִּ֖יל בַּֽאֲמִתֶּֽךָ:
14 And the Lord hastened with the evil and brought it upon us, for the Lord our God is righteous with all His deeds which He performs, and we did not hearken to His voice.		ידוַיִּשְׁקֹ֚ד יְהֹוָה֙ עַל־הָֽרָעָ֔ה וַיְבִיאֶ֖הָ עָלֵ֑ינוּ כִּֽי־צַדִּ֞יק יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ עַל־כָּל־מַֽעֲשָׂיו֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֔ה וְלֹ֥א שָׁמַ֖עְנוּ בְּקֹלֽוֹ:
15 And now, O Lord our God, Who took Your people out of the land of Egypt with a strong hand, and You have made for Yourself a Name as of this day; we have sinned, we have dealt wickedly.		טווְעַתָּ֣ה | אֲדֹנָ֣י אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ אֲשֶׁר֩ הוֹצֵ֨אתָ אֶת־עַמְּךָ֜ מֵאֶ֚רֶץ מִצְרַ֙יִם֙ בְּיָ֣ד חֲזָקָ֔ה וַתַּֽעַשׂ־לְךָ֥ שֵׁ֖ם כַּיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה חָטָ֖אנוּ רָשָֽׁעְנוּ:
16 O Lord, according to all Your righteousness, may Your wrath and Your anger return now from Your city, Jerusalem, the mount of Your Sanctuary, for because of our sins and because of the iniquities of our forefathers, Jerusalem and Your people have become a mockery to all those surrounding us.		טזאֲדֹנָ֗י כְּכָל־צִדְקֹתֶ֙יךָ֙ יָֽשָׁב־נָ֚א אַפְּךָ֙ וַֽחֲמָ֣תְךָ֔ מֵעִֽירְךָ֥ יְרֽוּשָׁלִַ֖ם הַר־קָדְשֶׁ֑ךָ כִּ֚י בַֽחֲטָאֵ֙ינוּ֙ וּבַֽעֲו‍ֹנ֣וֹת אֲבֹתֵ֔ינוּ יְרֽוּשָׁלִַ֧ם וְעַמְּךָ֛ לְחֶרְפָּ֖ה לְכָל־סְבִֽיבֹתֵֽינוּ:
17 And now, hearken, O Lord our God, to Your servant’s prayer and to his supplications, and cause Your face to shine upon Your desolate Sanctuary, for the sake of the Lord.		יזוְעַתָּ֣ה | שְׁמַ֣ע אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ אֶל־תְּפִלַּ֚ת עַבְדְּךָ֙ וְאֶל־תַּֽחֲנוּנָ֔יו וְהָאֵ֣ר פָּנֶ֔יךָ עַל־מִקְדָּשְׁךָ֖ הַשָּׁמֵ֑ם לְמַ֖עַן אֲדֹנָֽי:
18 O Lord, incline Your ear and hearken, open Your eyes and see our desolations and the city upon which Your name is called, because not for our righteousness do we cast our supplications before You, but for Your great mercies.		יחהַטֵּ֨ה אֱלֹהַ֥י | אָזְנְךָ֘ וּֽשֲׁמָע֒ פְּקַ֣ח (כתיב פְּקַ֣חה) עֵינֶ֗יךָ וּרְאֵה֙ שֹֽׁמְמֹתֵ֔ינוּ וְהָעִ֕יר אֲשֶׁר־נִקְרָ֥א שִׁמְךָ֖ עָלֶ֑יהָ כִּ֣י | לֹ֣א עַל־צִדְקֹתֵ֗ינוּ אֲנַ֨חְנוּ מַפִּילִ֚ים תַּֽחֲנוּנֵ֙ינוּ֙ לְפָנֶ֔יךָ כִּ֥י עַל־רַֽחֲמֶ֖יךָ הָרַבִּֽים:
19 O Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do, do not delay; for Your sake, my God, for Your Name is called upon Your city and upon Your people.”		יטאֲדֹנָ֚י | שְׁמָ֙עָה֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י | סְלָ֔חָה אֲדֹנָ֛י הַקְשִׁ֥יבָה וַֽעֲשֵׂ֖ה אַל־תְּאַחַ֑ר לְמַֽעַנְךָ֣ אֱלֹהַ֔י כִּֽי־שִׁמְךָ֣ נִקְרָ֔א עַל־עִֽירְךָ֖ וְעַל־עַמֶּֽךָ:
20 Now I was still speaking and praying and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel and casting my supplication before the Lord my God about the mount of the Sanctuary of my God.		כוְע֨וֹד אֲנִ֚י מְדַבֵּר֙ וּמִתְפַּלֵּ֔ל וּמִתְוַדֶּה֙ חַטָּאתִ֔י וְחַטַּ֖את עַמִּ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וּמַפִּ֣יל תְּחִנָּתִ֗י לִפְנֵי֙ יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהַ֔י עַ֖ל הַר־קֹ֥דֶשׁ אֱלֹהָֽי:
21 While I was still speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I saw in the vision at first, approached me in swift flight about the time of the evening offering.		כאוְע֛וֹד אֲנִ֥י מְדַבֵּ֖ר בַּתְּפִלָּ֑ה וְהָאִ֣ישׁ גַּבְרִיאֵ֡ל אֲשֶׁר֩ רָאִ֨יתִי בֶֽחָז֚וֹן בַּתְּחִלָּה֙ מֻעָ֣ף בִּיעָ֔ף נֹגֵ֣עַ אֵלַ֔י כְּעֵ֖ת מִנְחַת־עָֽרֶב:
22 And he enabled me to understand, and he spoke with me, and he said, “Daniel, now I have come forth to make you skillful in understanding.		כבוַיָּ֖בֶן וַיְדַבֵּ֣ר עִמִּ֑י וַיֹּאמַ֕ר דָּֽנִיֵּ֕אל עַתָּ֥ה יָצָ֖אתִי לְהַשְׂכִּֽילְךָ֥ בִינָֽה:
23 In the beginning of your supplications, a word came forth, and I have come to tell it, for you have desirable qualities; now contemplate the word and understand the vision.		כגבִּתְחִלַּ֨ת תַּֽחֲנוּנֶ֜יךָ יָצָ֣א דָבָ֗ר וַֽאֲנִי֙ בָּ֣אתִי לְהַגִּ֔יד כִּ֥י חֲמוּד֖וֹת אָ֑תָּה וּבִין֙ בַּדָּבָ֔ר וְהָבֵ֖ן בַּמַּרְאֶֽה:
24 Seventy weeks [of years] have been decreed upon your people and upon the city of your Sanctuary to terminate the transgression and to end sin, and to expiate iniquity, and to bring eternal righteousness, and to seal up vision and prophet, and to anoint the Holy of Holies.		כדשָֽׁבֻעִ֨ים שִׁבְעִ֜ים נֶחְתַּ֥ךְ עַל־עַמְּךָ֣ | וְעַל־עִ֣יר קָדְשֶׁ֗ךָ לְכַלֵּ֨א הַפֶּ֜שַׁע וּלְהָתֵ֚ם (כתיב וּלְחָתֵ֚ם) חַטָּאוֹת֙ וּלְכַפֵּ֣ר עָו‍ֹ֔ן וּלְהָבִ֖יא צֶ֣דֶק עֹֽלָמִ֑ים וְלַחְתֹּם֙ חָז֣וֹן וְנָבִ֔יא וְלִמְשֹׁ֖חַ קֹ֥דֶשׁ קָֽדָשִֽׁים:
25 And you shall know and understand that from the emergence of the word to restore and to rebuild Jerusalem until the anointed king [shall be] seven weeks, and [for] sixty-two weeks it will return and be built street and moat, but in troubled times.		כהוְתֵדַ֨ע וְתַשְׂכֵּ֜ל מִן־מֹצָ֣א דָבָ֗ר לְהָשִׁיב֙ וְלִבְנ֚וֹת יְרֽוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ עַד־מָשִׁ֣יחַ נָגִ֔יד שָֽׁבֻעִ֖ים שִׁבְעָ֑ה וְשָֽׁבֻעִ֞ים שִׁשִּׁ֣ים וּשְׁנַ֗יִם תָּשׁוּב֙ וְנִבְנְתָה֙ רְח֣וֹב וְחָר֔וּץ וּבְצ֖וֹק הָעִתִּֽים:
26 And after the sixty-two weeks, the anointed one will be cut off, and he will be no more, and the people of the coming monarch will destroy the city and the Sanctuary, and his end will come about by inundation, and until the end of the war, it will be cut off into desolation.		כווְאַֽחֲרֵ֚י הַשָּֽׁבֻעִים֙ שִׁשִּׁ֣ים וּשְׁנַ֔יִם יִכָּרֵ֥ת מָשִׁ֖יחַ וְאֵ֣ין ל֑וֹ וְהָעִ֨יר וְהַקֹּ֜דֶשׁ יַ֠שְׁחִית עַ֣ם נָגִ֚יד הַבָּא֙ וְקִצּ֣וֹ בַשֶּׁ֔טֶף וְעַד֙ קֵ֣ץ מִלְחָמָ֔ה נֶֽחֱרֶ֖צֶת שֹֽׁמֵמֽוֹת:
27 And he will strengthen a covenant for the princes for one week, and half the week he will abolish sacrifice and meal- offering, and on high, among abominations, will be the dumb one, and until destruction and extermination befall the dumb one.		כזוְהִגְבִּ֥יר בְּרִ֛ית לָֽרַבִּ֖ים שָׁב֣וּעַ אֶחָ֑ד וַֽחֲצִ֨י הַשָּׁב֜וּעַ יַשְׁבִּ֣ית | זֶ֣בַח וּמִנְחָ֗ה וְעַ֨ל כְּנַ֚ף שִׁקּוּצִים֙ מְשֹׁמֵ֔ם וְעַד־כָּלָה֙ וְנֶ֣חֱרָצָ֔ה תִּתַּ֖ךְ עַל־שׁוֹמֵֽם:

Daniel 9

(1)  En el primer año de Dario, hijo de (Asuero),del linaje de los medios, que fue hecho rey sobre el reino de los caldeos;

(2) en el primer año de su reino yo, Daniel, meditaba sobre los libros, acerca del número de años señalados en la palabra del Eterno que vino a Jeremías (Yirmiyahu) el profeta, (años) que se cumplirían para la desolación de Jerusalem: Setenta años.

(3) Y puse mi rostro a Dios el Señor para buscarle en oración y súplica, con ayuno, saco y ceniza.

(4) Oré pues al Eterno mi Dios e hice confesión, diciendo:”Oh Señor, grande y poderoso, que guardas el Pacto y alientas misericordia con los que Te aman y guadan Tus mandamientos,

(5) hemos pecado, hemos obrado con iniquidad y maldad, nos hemos rebelado y nos hemos apartado de tus mandatos y Tus preceptos.

(6) Tampoco hemos escuchado a Tus siervos los profetas que hablaron en Tu nombre a nuestros reyes, nuestros príncipes, nuestros padres y todo el pueblo en la tierra.

(7) A Ti, oh Señor, pertenecen la justicia pero a nosotros la confusión de rostros, como en este día; a los hombres de Judá, a los moradores de Jerusalem y a todo Israel, tanto los que estan cerca como los que estan lejos, en todos los países donde Tú los llevaste porque obraron traicioneramente contigo.

(8) ¡Oh Eterno!, de nosotros es la confusión de rostro, de nuestros reyes, de nuestros príncipes y de nuestros padres, porque hemos pecado contra Ti.

(9) De Dios el Señor son la compasión y el perdón, porque nos hemos rebelado contra Él,

(10) y no escuchamos la voz del Eterno nuestro Dios de que anduviéramos en Su Ley, que estableció para nosotros por intermedio de Sus siervos los profetas.

(11) Sí, todo Israel trasgredió Tu ley y se apartó de ella rechazando escuchar Tu voz de modo que recayeron sobre nosotros la  maldición y el juramento escrito en la ley de Moisés (Moshé), siervo de Dios porque hemos pecado contra él.

(12) Y él confirmó Su palabra que pronunció  contra nosotros y contra los jueces que nos juzgaron, trayendo sobre nosotros un grave mal, de manera que bajo todo el cielo nunca había sido hecho lo que se hizo sobre Jerusalem.

(13) Y como esta escrito en la ley de Moisés, todo este mal nos ha sobrevenido. Sin embargo, nosotros no suplicamos el favor del Eterno nuestro Dios para que nos volviéramos de nuestras iniquidades y comprendieramos Tu verdad.

(14) Y el Señor se apresuró con el mal y lo trajo sobre nosotros, porque el Señor nuestro Dios es justo con todas sus obras que realiza, y no escuchamos su voz.

(15) Y ahora , oh Dios, Señor nuestro, que sacaste a Tu pueblo de la tierra de Egipto con mano poderosa y te hiciste renombre hasta el día de hoy, (reconocemos que) hemos pecado, obrando con maldad.

(16) Oh Señor, conforme a toda Tu justicia, te ruego que se aparte Tu ira y Tu furia de Tu ciudad Jerusalem, Tu monte santo, porque nuestros pecados, la iniquidad de nuestros padres, de Jerusalem y de Tu pueblo se convirtieron en oprobio ante todos los que nos rodean.

(17) Ahora pues, oh Dios nuestro, escucha la plegaria de Tu siervo y sus súplicas y haz que brille Tu rostro sobre Tu santuario desolado, por el Señor mismo.

(18) Oh Dios mío, inclina Tu oído y escucha. Abre Tus ojos y contempla nuestra desolación y la ciudad sobre la que se invocaba Tu nombre, porque no elevamos nuestra súplica a Ti en virtud de nuestra justicia, sino por Tu gran compasión.

(19) ¡Oh Señor, escucha! ¡Oh Señor, perdona! ¡Oh Señor, presta atención y hazlo así, por Tu propia causa, oh Dios mío, porque Tu nombre es invocado sobre Tu ciudad y Tu pueblo!

(20) Y mientras hablaba, oraba, confesaba mi pecado y de mi pueblo Israel y presentaba mis rogativas ante el Eterno mi Dios por el santo monte de mi Dios,

(21) sí, miestras hablaba en oración, Gabriel (Gavriel), el hombre a quien había visto en la visión del principio y que había volado presurosamente, se me aproximó como a la hora de la oblación de la tarde.

(22) Me habló explicandome y dijo: “Oh Daniel, he salido para hacerte sabio de entendimiento.

(23) Al principio de tu plegaria salió la orden y yo he venido para hacerte saber, porque tú eres bien amado. Presta atención a la palabra y comprende la visión.

(24) Setenta semanas fueron decretadas sobre tu pueblo y sobre la ciudad santa para terminar la transgresión y para que fenezca el pecado y pueda perdonarse la iniquidad, para traer justicia eterna, sellar visión y profecía y ungir el lugar más sagrado.

(25) Sabe pues y ten en cuenta que desde que salga la orden para restaurar y reedificar a Jerusalem hasta la venida de un ungido, un príncipe, habrá siete semanas y en setenta y dos semanas será reconstruida con plaza y foso, pero en tiempos difíciles.

(26) Y despues de las sesenta y dos semanas será cortado un ungido y no será más, y el pueblo de un principe vendrá y destruirá la ciudad y el Santuario, pero su fin será con una innundación y hasta el fin de la guerra han sido decretados asolamiento.

(27) Y hará pacto firme con muchos por una semana, y por media semana hará cesar el sacrificio y la ofrenda vegetal. Luego sobre el ala de las cosas detestables vendrá el asolador, y hasta el exterminio dispuesto se derramará la ira sobre el pueblo asolado.

 

1 I am the man who has seen affliction by the rod of His wrath.		אאֲנִ֤י הַגֶּ֨בֶר֙ רָאָ֣ה עֳנִ֔י בְּשֵׁ֖בֶט עֶבְרָתֽוֹ:
2 He has led me and made me walk [in] darkness and not [in] light.		באוֹתִ֥י נָהַ֛ג וַיֹּלַ֖ךְ ח֥שֶׁךְ וְלֹא־אֽוֹר:
3 Only against me would He repeatedly turn His hand the whole day long.		גאַ֣ךְ בִּ֥י יָשֻׁ֛ב יַֽהֲפֹ֥ךְ יָד֖וֹ כָּל־הַיּֽוֹם:
4 He has made my flesh and my skin waste away [and] has broken my bones.		דבִּלָּ֤ה בְשָׂרִי֙ וְעוֹרִ֔י שִׁבַּ֖ר עַצְמוֹתָֽי:
5 He has built up [camps of siege] against me, and encompassed [me with] gall and travail.		הבָּנָ֥ה עָלַ֛י וַיַּקַּ֖ף רֹ֥אשׁ וּתְלָאָֽה:
6 He has made me dwell in darkness like those who are forever dead.		ובְּמַֽחֲשַׁכִּ֥ים הֽוֹשִׁיבַ֖נִי כְּמֵתֵ֥י עוֹלָֽם:
7 He has fenced me in, so that I cannot get out; He has made my chains heavy.		זגָּדַ֧ר בַּֽעֲדִ֛י וְלֹ֥א אֵצֵ֖א הִכְבִּ֥יד נְחָשְׁתִּֽי:
8 Though I cry out and plead, He shuts out my prayer.		חגַּ֣ם כִּ֤י אֶזְעַק֙ וַֽאֲשַׁוֵּ֔עַ שָׂתַ֖ם תְּפִלָּתִֽי:
9 He has walled up my roads with hewn stones, He has made my paths crooked.		טגָּדַ֤ר דְּרָכַי֙ בְּגָזִ֔ית נְתִֽיבֹתַ֖י עִוָּֽה:
10 He is to me a bear lying in wait, a lion in hiding.		ידֹּ֣ב אֹרֵ֥ב הוּא֙ לִ֔י אֲרִ֖י (כתיב אֲרִ֖יה) בְּמִסְתָּרִֽים:
11 He scattered thorns on my ways, He caused me to spread my legs apart, and made me desolate.		יאדְּרָכַ֥י סוֹרֵ֛ר וַֽיְפַשְּׁחֵ֖נִי שָׂמַ֥נִי שֹׁמֵֽם:
12 He bent His bow and set me up as a target for the arrow.		יבדָּרַ֤ךְ קַשְׁתּ וֹ֙ וַיַּצִּיבֵ֔נִי כַּמַּטָּרָ֖א לַחֵֽץ:
13 He has caused the arrows of His quiver to enter into my reins.		יגהֵבִיא֙ בְּכִלְיֹתָ֔י בְּנֵ֖י אַשְׁפָּתֽוֹ:
14 I have become the laughing stock of all my people, their song [of derision] all day long.		ידהָיִ֤יתִי שְּׂחֹק֙ לְכָל־עַמִּ֔י נְגִֽינָתָ֖ם כָּל־הַיּֽוֹם:
15 He has filled me with bitterness; He has sated me with wormwood.		טוהִשְׂבִּיעַ֥נִי בַמְּרוֹרִ֖ים הִרְוַ֥נִי לַֽעֲנָֽה:
16 Indeed, He has made my teeth grind on gravel, and caused me to wallow in ashes.		טזוַיַּגְרֵ֤ס בֶּֽחָצָץ֙ שִׁנָּ֔י הִכְפִּישַׁ֖נִי בָּאֵֽפֶר:
17 And my soul is far removed from peace, I have forgotten [what] goodness [is].		יזוַתִּזְנַ֧ח מִשָּׁל֛וֹם נַפְשִׁ֖י נָשִׁ֥יתִי טוֹבָֽה:
18 So I said, “Gone is my life, and my expectation from the Lord.”		יחוָֽאֹמַר֙ אָבַ֣ד נִצְחִ֔י וְתֽוֹחַלְתִּ֖י מֵֽיהֹוָֽה:
19 Remember my affliction and my misery, wormwood and gall.		יטזְכָר־עָנְיִ֥י וּמְרוּדִ֖י לַֽעֲנָ֥ה וָרֹֽאשׁ:
20 My soul well remembers and is bowed down within me.		כזָכ֣וֹר תִּזְכּ֔וֹר וְתָשׁ֥וּחַ (כתיב וְתָשׁ֥יחַ) עָלַ֖י נַפְשִֽׁי:
21 This I reply to my heart; therefore I have hope.		כאזֹ֛את אָשִׁ֥יב אֶל־לִבִּ֖י עַל־כֵּ֥ן אוֹחִֽיל:
22 Verily, the kindnesses of the Lord never cease! Indeed, His mercies never fail!		כבחַֽסְדֵ֤י יְהֹוָה֙ כִּ֣י לֹֽא־תָ֔מְנוּ כִּ֥י לֹֽא־כָל֖וּ רַֽחֲמָֽיו:
23 They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.		כגחֲדָשִׁים֙ לַבְּקָרִ֔ים רַבָּ֖ה אֱמֽוּנָתֶֽךָ:
24 “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul; “therefore I will hope in Him.”		כדחֶלְקִ֤י יְהֹוָה֙ אָֽמְרָ֣ה נַפְשִׁ֔י עַל־כֵּ֖ן אוֹחִ֥יל לֽוֹ:
25 The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul that seeks Him.		כהט֤וֹב יְהֹוָה֙ לְקֹוָ֔ו לְנֶ֖פֶשׁ תִּדְרְשֶֽׁנּוּ:
26 It is good that one should wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.		כוט֤וֹב וְיָחִיל֙ וְדוּמָ֔ם לִתְשׁוּעַ֖ת יְהֹוָֽה:
27 It is good for a man that he bear a yoke in his youth.		כזט֣וֹב לַגֶּ֔בֶר כִּֽי־יִשָּׂ֥א עֹ֖ל בִּנְעוּרָֽיו:
28 Let him sit solitary and wait, for He has laid [it] upon him.		כחיֵשֵׁ֤ב בָּדָד֙ וְיִדֹּ֔ם כִּ֥י נָטַ֖ל עָלָֽיו:
29 Let him put his mouth into the dust; there may yet be hope.		כטיִתֵּ֤ן בֶּֽעָפָר֙ פִּ֔יהוּ אוּלַ֖י יֵ֥שׁ תִּקְוָֽה:
30 Let him offer his cheek to his smiter; let him be filled with reproach.		ליִתֵּ֧ן לְמַכֵּ֛הוּ לֶ֖חִי יִשְׂבַּ֥ע בְּחֶרְפָּֽה:
31 For the Lord will not cast [him] off forever.		לאכִּ֣י לֹ֥א יִזְנַ֛ח לְעוֹלָ֖ם אֲדֹנָֽי:
32 Though he cause grief, He will yet have compassion according to the abundance of His kindness.		לבכִּ֣י אִם־הוֹגָ֔ה וְרִחַ֖ם כְּרֹ֥ב חֲסָדָֽו:
33 For He does not willingly afflict or grieve the sons of man.		לגכִּ֣י לֹ֤א עִנָּה֙ מִלִּבּ֔וֹ וַיַּגֶּ֖ה בְּנֵי־אִֽישׁ:
34 [Or] crush under His feet all the prisoners of the earth.		לדלְדַכֵּא֙ תַּ֣חַת רַגְלָ֔יו כֹּ֖ל אֲסִ֥ירֵי אָֽרֶץ:
35 [Or] turn aside the right of a man in the presence of the Most High.		להלְהַטּוֹת֙ מִשְׁפַּט־גָּ֔בֶר נֶ֖גֶד פְּנֵ֥י עֶלְיֽוֹן:
36 To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord does not approve.		לולְעַוֵּ֤ת (ע זעירא) אָדָם֙ בְּרִיב֔וֹ אֲדֹנָ֖י לֹ֥א רָאָֽה:
37 Who has commanded and it came to pass, unless the Lord ordained it?		לזמִ֣י זֶ֤ה אָמַר֙ וַתֶּ֔הִי אֲדֹנָ֖י לֹ֥א צִוָּֽה:
38 [And] by the command of the Most High, neither good nor evil come.		לחמִפִּ֤י עֶלְיוֹן֙ לֹ֣א תֵצֵ֔א הָֽרָע֖וֹת וְהַטּֽוֹב:
39 Why should a living man complain? A man for his sins.		לטמַה־יִּתְאוֹנֵן֙ אָדָ֣ם חָ֔י גֶּ֖בֶר עַל־חֲטָאָֽו:
40 Let us search and examine our ways, and let us return to the Lord.		מנַחְפְּשָׂ֤ה דְרָכֵ֨ינוּ֙ וְֽנַחְקֹ֔רָה וְנָשׁ֖וּבָה עַד־יְהֹוָֽה:
41 Let us lift up our hearts to our hands, to God in heaven.		מאנִשָּׂ֤א לְבָבֵ֨נוּ֙ אֶל־כַּפָּ֔יִם אֶל־אֵ֖ל בַּשָּׁמָֽיִם:
42 We have rebelled and have been disobedient; You have not forgiven.		מבנַ֤חְנוּ פָשַׁ֨עְנוּ֙ וּמָרִ֔ינוּ אַתָּ֖ה לֹ֥א סָלָֽחְתָּ:
43 You have enveloped Yourself with anger and pursued us; You have slain without mercy.		מגסַכּ֤וֹתָה בָאַף֙ וַֽתִּרְדְּפֵ֔נוּ הָרַ֖גְתָּ לֹ֥א חָמָֽלְתָּ:
44 You have enveloped Yourself in a cloud, so that no prayer can pass through.		מדסַכֹּ֤תָה בֶֽעָנָן֙ לָ֔ךְ מֵֽעֲב֖וֹר תְּפִלָּֽה:
45 You make us as scum and refuse among the peoples.		מהסְחִ֧י וּמָא֛וֹס תְּשִׂימֵ֖נוּ בְּקֶ֥רֶב הָֽעַמִּֽים:
46 All our enemies have opened their mouth wide against us.		מופָּצ֥וּ עָלֵ֛ינוּ פִּיהֶ֖ם כָּל־אֹֽיְבֵֽינוּ:
47 We had terror and pitfalls, desolation and ruin.		מזפַּ֧חַד וָפַ֛חַת הָ֥יָה לָ֖נוּ הַשֵּׁ֥את וְהַשָּֽׁבֶר:
48 My eyes shed torrents of water over the destruction of the daughter of my people.		מחפַּלְגֵי־מַ֨יִם֙ תֵּרַ֣ד עֵינִ֔י עַל־שֶׁ֖בֶר בַּת־עַמִּֽי:
49 My eye streams and is not silent, without respite.		מטעֵינִ֧י נִגְּרָ֛ה וְלֹ֥א תִדְמֶ֖ה מֵאֵ֥ין הֲפֻגֽוֹת:
50 Till the Lord looks down from the heavens and beholds.		נעַד־יַשְׁקִ֣יף וְיֵ֔רֶא יְהֹוָ֖ה מִשָּׁמָֽיִם:
51 My eye sullies my soul more than all the daughters of my city.		נאעֵינִי֙ עֽוֹלְלָ֣ה לְנַפְשִׁ֔י מִכֹּ֖ל בְּנ֥וֹת עִירִֽי:
52 My enemies have hunted me like a bird, without cause.		נבצ֥וֹד צָד֛וּנִי כַּצִּפֹּ֖ר אֹיְבַ֥י חִנָּֽם:
53 They have confined my life in the dungeon and have cast a stone upon me.		נגצָֽמְת֤וּ בַבּוֹר֙ חַיָּ֔י וַיַּדּוּ־אֶ֖בֶן בִּֽי:
54 Water flowed over my head; I thought, “I am cut off.”		נדצָֽפוּ־מַ֥יִם עַל־רֹאשִׁ֖י אָמַ֥רְתִּי נִגְזָֽרְתִּי:
55 I called on Your name, O Lord, from the depths of the pit.		נהקָרָ֤אתִי שִׁמְךָ֙ יְהֹוָ֔ה מִבּ֖וֹר תַּחְתִּיּֽוֹת:
56 You did hear my voice; hide not Your ear from my sighing [or] from my crying.		נוקוֹלִ֖י שָׁמָ֑עְתָּ אַל־תַּעְלֵ֧ם אָזְנְךָ֛ לְרַוְחָתִ֖י לְשַׁוְעָתִֽי:
57 You did draw near when I called on You; You did say, “Do not fear.”		נזקָרַ֨בְתָּ֙ בְּי֣וֹם אֶקְרָאֶ֔ךָּ אָמַ֖רְתָּ אַל־תִּירָֽא:
58 You did plead my cause, O Lord; You did redeem my life.		נחרַ֧בְתָּ אֲדֹנָ֛י רִיבֵ֥י נַפְשִׁ֖י גָּאַ֥לְתָּ חַיָּֽי:
59 You have seen wrong done to me, O Lord; judge my cause.		נטרָאִ֤יתָה יְהֹוָה֙ עַוָּ֣תָתִ֔י שָׁפְטָ֖ה מִשְׁפָּטִֽי:
60 You have seen all their [acts of] vengeance, all their devices against me.		סרָאִ֨יתָה֙ כָּל־נִקְמָתָ֔ם כָּל־מַחְשְׁבֹתָ֖ם לִֽי:
61 You have heard their insults, O Lord, all their plots against me.		סאשָׁמַ֤עְתָּ חֶרְפָּתָם֙ יְהֹוָ֔ה כָּל־מַחְשְׁבֹתָ֖ם עָלָֽי:
62 The utterances of my assailants and their thoughts are against me all day long.		סבשִׂפְתֵ֤י קָמַי֙ וְהֶגְיוֹנָ֔ם עָלַ֖י כָּל־הַיּֽוֹם:
63 Behold their sitting down and their rising; I am their song [of derision].		סגשִׁבְתָּ֤ם וְקִֽימָתָם֙ הַבִּ֔יטָה אֲנִ֖י מַנְגִּֽינָתָֽם:
64 Requite them, O Lord, according to the work of their hands.		סדתָּשִׁ֨יב לָהֶ֥ם גְּמ֛וּל יְהֹוָ֖ה כְּמַֽעֲשֵׂ֥ה יְדֵיהֶֽם:
65 Give them a weakness of heart; may Your curse be upon them.		סהתִּתֵּ֤ן לָהֶם֙ מְגִנַּת־לֵ֔ב תַּאֲֽלָֽתְךָ֖ לָהֶֽם:
66Pursue them in anger and destroy them from under the heavens of the Lord.		סותִּרְדֹּ֤ף בְּאַף֙ וְתַשְׁמִידֵ֔ם מִתַּ֖חַת שְׁמֵ֥י יְהֹוָֽה:

Las Lamentaciones 3

(1) Álef. Yo soy el hombre que ha visto la aflicción por la vara de Su ira.

(2) Él me condujo e hizo que anduviera en la oscuridad y no en la luz.

(3) Ciertamente vuelve Su mano contra mí repetidamente todo el día.

(4) Bet. Mi carne y Mi piel, Él las ha desgastado y ha quebrantado mis huesos.

(5) Edificó (fortalezas) contra mí y me rodeo de amarguras y congojas.

(6) Me hizo habitar en medio de tinieblas como los que han muero hace mucho tiempo.

(7) Guímel. Me cercó para que no pudiera avanzar. Tornó pesadas mis cadenas.

(8) Sí, cuando clamo pidiendo auxilio, Él tapa mi plegaria.

(9) Encerró mis caminos con piedras labradas y torno mis sendas tortuosas.

(10) Dálet. Es para mí como un osos al acecho, como un león en lugares secretos.

(11) Transtornan mis caminos y me desmenuzan. Me ha hecho desolado.

(12) Inclinó Su arco y me puso por blanco de Sus saetas.

(13) He. Él hizo que los astiles de su aljaba se clavasen en mi costado.

(14) Me he convertido en motivo de burla entre toda mi gente, y cantan todo el día.

(15) Me llenó de amargura y me saturó de ajenjo.

(16) Vav. También me rompió los dientes con piedras de grava y me obligó a revolcarme en cenizas.

(17) Y mi alma esta lejos de tener paz, me olvidé de la prosperidad.

(18) Y dije: “Mi fuerza ha perecido y se ha esfumado mi esperanza en el Eterno”.

(19) Záyin. Recuerda mi afliccion y mi angustia, el ajenjo y la hiel.

(20) Mi alma todavía las recuerda y está quebrantada dentro de mí.

(21) En eso recapacito y conservo la esperanza.

(22) Jet. De seguro, la misericordia del Eterno no está consumida. Sus compasiones nunca se acaban.

(23) Se renuevan cada mañana. Grande es Su paciencia.

(24) “El Eterno es mi porción”, dice mi alma. Por lo tanto, confiaré en Él.

(25) Tet. El Eterno es benevolente para los que Le esperan, para el alma que le busca.

(26) Es bueno que el hombre espere tranquilamente la salvación del Eterno.

(27) El bueno que el hombre sobrelleve el yugo en su juventud.

(28) Yud. (Bueno es ) que permanezca solo y en silencio, porque Él lo impone;

(29) que ponga su boca en el polvo si así tenga esperanza;

(30) que ofrezca su mejilla al que le hiere y que se harte de oprobio.

(31) Kaf. Por que el Eterno no desechará para siempre.

(32) Si bien causa aflicciones, también tienen compasión, conforme a la multitud de Sus mercedes.

(33) Él no aflije de propósito, ni causa de buena gana penurias a los hijos de los hombres.

(34) Lámed. El aplastar bajo el pie a todos los prisioneros de la tierra,

(35) el torcer el derecho de un hombre ante la faz del Altísimo,

(36) el subvernir la causa de un hombre, el Señor no lo aprueba.

(37) Men. ¿Quién es el que dice (que ha de ocurrir algo) y ello no sucede, sin que el Señor lo disponga?

(38) De la boca del Altísimo ¿no proceden acaso el mal y el bien?

(39) ¿Por qué pues se queja el hombre viviente? ¡Sufra el hombre fuerte si cometió pecado!

(40) Nun. Busquemos y probemos nuestros caminos y volvamos al Eterno.

(41) Elevemos nuestro corazón con nuestras manos a Dios en el cielo.

(42) hemos pecado y nos hemos rebelado (contra Él). (Por eso) Tú no has perdonado.

(43) Sámej. Pletórico de ira nos perseguiste. Mataste sin compasión.

(44) te cubriste como una nube para que no pudiera llegarte nuestra plegaria.

(45) Nos pusiste como heces y basura en medio de los pueblos.

(46) Pe. Todos nuestros enemigos han abierto su boca contra nosotros.

(47) El terror y el hoyo nos a sobrevenido. (Todo es) desolación y destrucción.

(48) Mis ojos estan empapados con ríos de agua por la transgresión de la hija de mi pueblo.

(49) Áyin. Mis ojos derraman (lágrimas) sin cesar, sin interrupción,

(50) hasta que el Eterno lo advierta y mire desde el cielo.

(51) Mis ojos afectaron a mi alma, a causa de todas las hijas de mi ciudad.

(52) Tzadik. Mis enemigos me han cazado como un pájaro, sin causa.

(53) me cortaron la vida en la cisterna y me arrojaron piedras.

(54) Las aguas cubrieron mi cabeza y me dije: “Soy cortado”.

(55) Cuf. Invoqué Tu nombre, oh Eterno, desde el hoyo profundo.

(56) Tú oiste mi voz. No ocultes tu oido ante mi clamor.

(57) Te acercaste en el día en que te llamé y dijiste: “No temas”.

(58) Resh. ¡Oh Señor! Tú has defendido las causas de mi alma. Has redimido mi vida.

(59) ¡Oh Eterno! Tú has visto la injusticia que me han hecho. Juzga Tú mi causa.

(60) Tú has visto las venganzas que se tomaron y todo lo que tramaron contra mí.

(61) Shin. Tú has oido como me agraviaron, oh Eterno y lo que tramaron contra mí.

(62) los labios de los que se alzaron contra mí y sus murmuraciones contra mí todo el día.

(63) Contempla como se sientan y como se levantan. Yo soy la cantinela de ellos.

(64) Tav. Les retribuirás, oh Eterno, conforme a la obra de sus manos.

(65) Les darás dureza de corazón. (Les darás) también tu maldición.

(66) Los perseguirás con ira y los destruiré de debajo de los cielos.
