Devarim – Deuteronomy – Chapter 32

1 Listen, O heavens, and I will speak! And let the earth hear the words of my mouth! אהַֽאֲזִ֥ינוּ הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם וַֽאֲדַבֵּ֑רָה וְתִשְׁמַ֥ע הָאָ֖רֶץ אִמְרֵי־פִֽי:
2 My lesson will drip like rain; my word will flow like dew; like storm winds on vegetation and like raindrops on grass. ביַֽעֲרֹ֤ף כַּמָּטָר֙ לִקְחִ֔י תִּזַּ֥ל כַּטַּ֖ל אִמְרָתִ֑י כִּשְׂעִירִ֣ם עֲלֵי־דֶ֔שֶׁא וְכִרְבִיבִ֖ים עֲלֵי־עֵֽשֶׂב:
3 When I call out the name of the Lord, ascribe greatness to our God. גכִּ֛י שֵׁ֥ם יְהֹוָה֖ אֶקְרָ֑א הָב֥וּ גֹ֖דֶל לֵֽאלֹהֵֽינוּ:
4 The deeds of the [Mighty] Rock are perfect, for all His ways are just; a faithful God, without injustice He is righteous and upright. דהַצּוּר֙ תָּמִ֣ים פָּֽעֳל֔וֹ כִּ֥י כָל־דְּרָכָ֖יו מִשְׁפָּ֑ט אֵ֤ל אֱמוּנָה֙ וְאֵ֣ין עָ֔וֶל צַדִּ֥יק וְיָשָׁ֖ר הֽוּא:
5 Destruction is not His; it is His children’s defect you crooked and twisted generation. השִׁחֵ֥ת ל֛וֹ לֹּ֖א בָּנָ֣יו מוּמָ֑ם דּ֥וֹר עִקֵּ֖שׁ וּפְתַלְתֹּֽל:
6 Is this how you repay the Lord, you disgraceful, unwise people?! Is He not your Father, your Master? He has made you and established you. והַלְיהֹוָה֙ תִּגְמְלוּ־זֹ֔את עַ֥ם נָבָ֖ל וְלֹ֣א חָכָ֑ם הֲלוֹא־הוּא֙ אָבִ֣יךָ קָּנֶ֔ךָ ה֥וּא עָֽשְׂךָ֖ וַֽיְכֹֽנְנֶֽךָ:
7 Remember the days of old; reflect upon the years of [other] generations. Ask your father, and he will tell you; your elders and they will inform you. זזְכֹר֙ יְמ֣וֹת עוֹלָ֔ם בִּ֖ינוּ שְׁנ֣וֹת דֹּֽר וָדֹ֑ר שְׁאַ֤ל אָבִ֨יךָ֙ וְיַגֵּ֔דְךָ זְקֵנֶ֖יךָ וְיֹֽאמְרוּ־לָֽךְ:
8 When the Most High gave nations their lot, when He separated the sons of man, He set up the boundaries of peoples according to the number of the children of Israel. חבְּהַנְחֵ֤ל עֶלְיוֹן֙ גּוֹיִ֔ם בְּהַפְרִיד֖וֹ בְּנֵ֣י אָדָ֑ם יַצֵּב֙ גְּבֻלֹ֣ת עַמִּ֔ים לְמִסְפַּ֖ר בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל:
9 Because the Lord’s portion is His people Jacob, the lot of His inheritance. טכִּ֛י חֵ֥לֶק יְהֹוָ֖ה עַמּ֑וֹ יַֽעֲקֹ֖ב חֶ֥בֶל נַֽחֲלָתֽוֹ:
10 He found them in a desert land, and in a desolate, howling wasteland. He encompassed them and bestowed understanding upon them; He protected them as the pupil of His eye. ייִמְצָאֵ֨הוּ֙ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ מִדְבָּ֔ר וּבְתֹ֖הוּ יְלֵ֣ל יְשִׁמֹ֑ן יְסֹֽבְבֶ֨נְהוּ֙ יְב֣וֹנְנֵ֔הוּ יִצְּרֶ֖נְהוּ כְּאִישׁ֥וֹן עֵינֽוֹ:
11 As an eagle awakens its nest, hovering over its fledglings, it spreads its wings, taking them and carrying them on its pinions. יאכְּנֶ֨שֶׁר֙ יָעִ֣יר קִנּ֔וֹ עַל־גּֽוֹזָלָ֖יו יְרַחֵ֑ף יִפְרֹ֤שׂ כְּנָפָיו֙ יִקָּחֵ֔הוּ יִשָּׂאֵ֖הוּ עַל־אֶבְרָתֽוֹ:
12 [So] the Lord guided them alone, and there was no alien deity with Him. יביְהֹוָ֖ה בָּדָ֣ד יַנְחֶ֑נּוּ וְאֵ֥ין עִמּ֖וֹ אֵ֥ל נֵכָֽר:
13 He made them ride upon the high places of the earth, that they would eat the produce of the field. He let them suck honey from a rock, and oil from the mighty part of the crag. יגיַרְכִּבֵ֨הוּ֙ עַל־בָּ֣מֳתֵי (כתיב על־במותי) אָ֔רֶץ וַיֹּאכַ֖ל תְּנוּבֹ֣ת שָׂדָ֑י וַיֵּֽנִקֵ֤הוּ דְבַשׁ֙ מִסֶּ֔לַע וְשֶׁ֖מֶן מֵֽחַלְמִ֥ישׁ צֽוּר:
14 The cream of cattle and the milk of sheep, with the fat of lambs and rams of Bashan and he-goats, with kidneys of wheat, and it [the congregation of Israel] would drink the blood of grapes [which was] as the finest wine. ידחֶמְאַ֨ת בָּקָ֜ר וַֽחֲלֵ֣ב צֹ֗אן עִם־חֵ֨לֶב כָּרִ֜ים וְאֵילִ֤ים בְּנֵֽי־בָשָׁן֙ וְעַתּוּדִ֔ים עִם־חֵ֖לֶב כִּלְי֣וֹת חִטָּ֑ה וְדַם־עֵנָ֖ב תִּשְׁתֶּה־חָֽמֶר:
15 And Jeshurun became fat and rebelled; you grew fat, thick and rotund; [Israel] forsook the God Who made them, and spurned the [Mighty] Rock of their salvation. טווַיִּשְׁמַ֤ן יְשֻׁרוּן֙ וַיִּבְעָ֔ט שָׁמַ֖נְתָּ עָבִ֣יתָ כָּשִׂ֑יתָ וַיִּטּשׁ֙ אֱל֣וֹהַּ עָשָׂ֔הוּ וַיְנַבֵּ֖ל צ֥וּר יְשֻֽׁעָתֽוֹ:
16 They provoked His zeal with alien worship; they made Him angry with abominations deeds. טזיַקְנִאֻ֖הוּ בְּזָרִ֑ים בְּתֽוֹעֵבֹ֖ת יַכְעִיסֻֽהוּ:
17 They sacrificed to demons, which have no power, deities they did not know, new things that only recently came, which your forefathers did not fear. יזיִזְבְּח֗וּ לַשֵּׁדִים֙ לֹ֣א אֱלֹ֔הַּ אֱלֹהִ֖ים לֹ֣א יְדָע֑וּם חֲדָשִׁים֙ מִקָּרֹ֣ב בָּ֔אוּ לֹ֥א שְׂעָר֖וּם אֲבֹֽתֵיכֶֽם:
18 You forgot the [Mighty] Rock Who bore you; you forgot the God Who delivered you. יחצ֥וּר יְלָֽדְךָ֖ תֶּ֑שִׁי וַתִּשְׁכַּ֖ח אֵ֥ל מְחֹֽלְלֶֽךָ:
19 And the Lord saw this and became angry, provoked by His sons and daughters. יטוַיַּ֥רְא יְהֹוָ֖ה וַיִּנְאָ֑ץ מִכַּ֥עַס בָּנָ֖יו וּבְנֹתָֽיו:
20 And He said, “I will hide My face from them. I will see what their end will be, for they are a generation of changes; they are not [recognizable] as My children whom I have reared. כוַיֹּ֗אמֶר אַסְתִּ֤ירָה פָנַי֙ מֵהֶ֔ם אֶרְאֶ֖ה מָ֣ה אַֽחֲרִיתָ֑ם כִּ֣י ד֤וֹר תַּהְפֻּכֹת֙ הֵ֔מָּה בָּנִ֖ים לֹֽא־אֵמֻ֥ן בָּֽם:
21 They have provoked My jealousy with a nongod, provoked My anger with their vanities. Thus, I will provoke their jealousy with nonpeople, provoke their anger with a foolish nation. כאהֵ֚ם קִנְא֣וּנִי בְלֹא־אֵ֔ל כִּֽעֲס֖וּנִי בְּהַבְלֵיהֶ֑ם וַֽאֲנִי֙ אַקְנִיאֵ֣ם בְּלֹא־עָ֔ם בְּג֥וֹי נָבָ֖ל אַכְעִיסֵֽם:
22 For a fire blazed in My wrath and burned to the lowest depths. It consumed the land and its produce, setting aflame the foundations of mountains. כבכִּֽי־אֵשׁ֙ קָֽדְחָ֣ה בְאַפִּ֔י וַתִּיקַ֖ד עַד־שְׁא֣וֹל תַּחְתִּ֑ית וַתֹּ֤אכַל אֶ֨רֶץ֙ וִֽיבֻלָ֔הּ וַתְּלַהֵ֖ט מֽוֹסְדֵ֥י הָרִֽים:
23 I will link evils upon them. I will use up My arrows on them. כגאַסְפֶּ֥ה עָלֵ֖ימוֹ רָע֑וֹת חִצַּ֖י אֲכַלֶּה־בָּֽם:
24 They will sprout hair from famine, attacked by demons, excised by Meriri. I will incite the teeth of livestock upon them, with the venom of creatures that slither in the dust. כדמְזֵ֥י רָעָ֛ב וּלְחֻ֥מֵי רֶ֖שֶׁף וְקֶ֣טֶב מְרִירִ֑י וְשֶׁן־בְּהֵמֹת֙ אֲשַׁלַּח־בָּ֔ם עִם־חֲמַ֖ת זֹֽחֲלֵ֥י עָפָֽר:
25 From outside, the sword will bereave, and terror from within; young men and maidens, suckling babes with venerable elders. כהמִחוּץ֙ תְּשַׁכֶּל־חֶ֔רֶב וּמֵֽחֲדָרִ֖ים אֵימָ֑ה גַּם־בָּחוּר֙ גַּם־בְּתוּלָ֔ה יוֹנֵ֖ק עִם־אִ֥ישׁ שֵׂיבָֽה:
26 I said that I would make an end of them, eradicate their remembrance from mankind. כואָמַ֖רְתִּי אַפְאֵיהֶ֑ם אַשְׁבִּ֥יתָה מֵֽאֱנ֖וֹשׁ זִכְרָֽם:
27 Were it not that the enemy’s wrath was heaped up, lest their adversaries distort; lest they claim, “Our hand was triumphant! The Lord did none of this!” כזלוּלֵ֗י כַּ֤עַס אוֹיֵב֙ אָג֔וּר פֶּן־יְנַכְּר֖וּ צָרֵ֑ימוֹ פֶּן־יֹֽאמְרוּ֙ יָדֵ֣נוּ רָ֔מָה וְלֹ֥א יְהֹוָ֖ה פָּעַ֥ל כָּל־זֹֽאת:
28 For they are a nation devoid of counsel, and they have no understanding. כחכִּי־ג֛וֹי אֹבַ֥ד עֵצ֖וֹת הֵ֑מָּה וְאֵ֥ין בָּהֶ֖ם תְּבוּנָֽה:
29 If they were wise, they would understand this; they would reflect upon their fate. כטל֥וּ חָֽכְמ֖וּ יַשְׂכִּ֣ילוּ זֹ֑את יָבִ֖ינוּ לְאַֽחֲרִיתָֽם:
30 How can one [person] pursue a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, unless their [Mighty] Rock has sold them out, and the Lord has given them over? לאֵיכָ֞ה יִרְדֹּ֤ף אֶחָד֙ אֶ֔לֶף וּשְׁנַ֖יִם יָנִ֣יסוּ רְבָבָ֑ה אִם־לֹא֙ כִּֽי־צוּרָ֣ם מְכָרָ֔ם וַֽיהֹוָ֖ה הִסְגִּירָֽם:
31 For their rock is not like our [Mighty] Rock. Nevertheless, our enemies sit in judgment. לאכִּ֛י לֹ֥א כְצוּרֵ֖נוּ צוּרָ֑ם וְאֹֽיְבֵ֖ינוּ פְּלִילִֽים:
32 For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the field of Gomorrah; their grapes are grapes of rosh, and they have bitter clusters. לבכִּֽי־מִגֶּ֤פֶן סְדֹם֙ גַּפְנָ֔ם וּמִשַּׁדְמֹ֖ת עֲמֹרָ֑ה עֲנָבֵ֨מוֹ֙ עִנְּבֵי־ר֔וֹשׁ אַשְׁכְּלֹ֥ת מְרֹרֹ֖ת לָֽמוֹ:
33 Their wine is the bitterness of serpents, and the bitterness of the ruthless cobras. לגחֲמַ֥ת תַּנִּינִ֖ם יֵינָ֑ם וְרֹ֥אשׁ פְּתָנִ֖ים אַכְזָֽר:
34 Is it not stored up with Me, sealed up in My treasuries? לדהֲלֹא־ה֖וּא כָּמֻ֣ס עִמָּדִ֑י חָת֖וּם בְּאֽוֹצְרֹתָֽי:
35 Vengeance is poised with Me, and it will pay at the time their foot stumbles. For the appointed day of their reckoning is near, and what is destined for them hastens. להלִ֤י נָקָם֙ וְשִׁלֵּ֔ם לְעֵ֖ת תָּמ֣וּט רַגְלָ֑ם כִּ֤י קָרוֹב֙ י֣וֹם אֵידָ֔ם וְחָ֖שׁ עֲתִדֹ֥ת לָֽמוֹ:
36 When the Lord will judge His people and will reconsider His servants, when He sees that the power is increasing, and none is controlled or strengthened. לוכִּֽי־יָדִ֤ין יְהֹוָה֙ עַמּ֔וֹ וְעַל־עֲבָדָ֖יו יִתְנֶחָ֑ם כִּ֤י יִרְאֶה֙ כִּי־אָ֣זְלַת יָ֔ד וְאֶ֖פֶס עָצ֥וּר וְעָזֽוּב:
37 Then He will say, “Where is their deity, the rock in which they trusted, לזוְאָמַ֖ר אֵ֣י אֱלֹהֵ֑ימוֹ צ֖וּר חָסָ֥יוּ בֽוֹ:
38 who ate the fat of their sacrifices and drank the wine of their libations? Let them arise and help you! Let them be your shelter! לחאֲשֶׁ֨ר חֵ֤לֶב זְבָחֵ֨ימוֹ֙ יֹאכֵ֔לוּ יִשְׁתּ֖וּ יֵ֣ין נְסִיכָ֑ם יָק֨וּמוּ֙ וְיַעְזְרֻכֶ֔ם יְהִ֥י עֲלֵיכֶ֖ם סִתְרָֽה:
39 See now that it is I! I am the One, and there is no god like Me! I cause death and grant life. I strike, but I heal, and no one can rescue from My Hand! לטרְא֣וּ | עַתָּ֗ה כִּ֣י אֲנִ֤י אֲנִי֙ ה֔וּא וְאֵ֥ין אֱלֹהִ֖ים עִמָּדִ֑י אֲנִ֧י אָמִ֣ית וַֽאֲחַיֶּ֗ה מָחַ֨צְתִּי֙ וַֽאֲנִ֣י אֶרְפָּ֔א וְאֵ֥ין מִיָּדִ֖י מַצִּֽיל:
40 For I raise up My hand to heaven, and say, ‘As I live forever.’ מכִּֽי־אֶשָּׂ֥א אֶל־שָׁמַ֖יִם יָדִ֑י וְאָמַ֕רְתִּי חַ֥י אָֽנֹכִ֖י לְעֹלָֽם:
41 When I sharpen the blade of My sword, and My hand grasps judgment, I will bring vengeance upon My adversaries and repay those who hate Me. מאאִם־שַׁנּוֹתִי֙ בְּרַ֣ק חַרְבִּ֔י וְתֹאחֵ֥ז בְּמִשְׁפָּ֖ט יָדִ֑י אָשִׁ֤יב נָקָם֙ לְצָרָ֔י וְלִמְשַׂנְאַ֖י אֲשַׁלֵּֽם:
42 I will intoxicate My arrows with blood, and My sword will consume flesh, from the blood of the slain and the captives, from the first breach of the enemy.’ מבאַשְׁכִּ֤יר חִצַּי֙ מִדָּ֔ם וְחַרְבִּ֖י תֹּאכַ֣ל בָּשָׂ֑ר מִדַּ֤ם חָלָל֙ וְשִׁבְיָ֔ה מֵרֹ֖אשׁ פַּרְע֥וֹת אוֹיֵֽב:
43 Sing out praise, O you nations, for His people! For He will avenge the blood of His servants, inflict revenge upon His adversaries, and appease His land [and] His people. מגהַרְנִ֤ינוּ גוֹיִם֙ עַמּ֔וֹ כִּ֥י דַם־עֲבָדָ֖יו יִקּ֑וֹם וְנָקָם֙ יָשִׁ֣יב לְצָרָ֔יו וְכִפֶּ֥ר אַדְמָת֖וֹ עַמּֽוֹ:
44 And Moses came and spoke all the words of this song into the ears of the people he and Hoshea the son of Nun. מדוַיָּבֹ֣א משֶׁ֗ה וַיְדַבֵּ֛ר אֶת־כָּל־דִּבְרֵ֥י הַשִּׁירָֽה־הַזֹּ֖את בְּאָזְנֵ֣י הָעָ֑ם ה֖וּא וְהוֹשֵׁ֥עַ בִּן־נֽוּן:
45 And Moses finished speaking all these words to all Israel. מהוַיְכַ֣ל משֶׁ֔ה לְדַבֵּ֛ר אֶת־כָּל־הַדְּבָרִ֥ים הָאֵ֖לֶּה אֶל־כָּל־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל:
46 And he said to them, “Set your hearts to all of the words which I bear witness for you this day, so that you may command your children to observe to do all the words of this Torah. מווַיֹּ֤אמֶר אֲלֵהֶם֙ שִׂ֣ימוּ לְבַבְכֶ֔ם לְכָ֨ל־הַדְּבָרִ֔ים אֲשֶׁ֧ר אָֽנֹכִ֛י מֵעִ֥יד בָּכֶ֖ם הַיּ֑וֹם אֲשֶׁ֤ר תְּצַוֻּם֙ אֶת־בְּנֵיכֶ֔ם לִשְׁמֹ֣ר לַֽעֲשׂ֔וֹת אֶת־כָּל־דִּבְרֵ֖י הַתּוֹרָ֥ה הַזֹּֽאת:
47 For it is not an empty thing for you, for it is your life, and through this thing, you will lengthen your days upon the land to which you are crossing over the Jordan, to possess it.” מזכִּי לֹֽא־דָבָ֨ר רֵ֥ק הוּא֙ מִכֶּ֔ם כִּי־ה֖וּא חַיֵּיכֶ֑ם וּבַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֗ה תַּֽאֲרִ֤יכוּ יָמִים֙ עַל־הָ֣אֲדָמָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר אַתֶּ֜ם עֹֽבְרִ֧ים אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּ֛ן שָׁ֖מָּה לְרִשְׁתָּֽהּ:
48 And the Lord spoke to Moses on that very day, saying, מחוַיְדַבֵּ֤ר יְהֹוָה֙ אֶל־משֶׁ֔ה בְּעֶ֛צֶם הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּ֖ה לֵאמֹֽר:
49 Go up this Mount Avarim [to] Mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is facing Jericho, and see the Land of Canaan, which I am giving to the children of Israel as a possession, מטעֲלֵ֡ה אֶל־הַר֩ הָֽעֲבָרִ֨ים הַזֶּ֜ה הַר־נְב֗וֹ אֲשֶׁר֙ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ מוֹאָ֔ב אֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל־פְּנֵ֣י יְרֵח֑וֹ וּרְאֵה֙ אֶת־אֶ֣רֶץ כְּנַ֔עַן אֲשֶׁ֨ר אֲנִ֥י נֹתֵ֛ן לִבְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לַֽאֲחֻזָּֽה:
50 And die on the mountain upon which you are climbing and be gathered to your people, just as your brother Aaron died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people. נוּמֻ֗ת בָּהָר֙ אֲשֶׁ֤ר אַתָּה֙ עֹלֶ֣ה שָׁ֔מָּה וְהֵֽאָסֵ֖ף אֶל־עַמֶּ֑יךָ כַּֽאֲשֶׁר־מֵ֞ת אַֽהֲרֹ֤ן אָחִ֨יךָ֙ בְּהֹ֣ר הָהָ֔ר וַיֵּאָ֖סֶף אֶל־עַמָּֽיו:
51 Because you betrayed Me in the midst of the children of Israel at the waters of Merivath Kadesh, [in] the desert of Zin, [and] because you did not sanctify Me in the midst of the children of Israel. נאעַל֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר מְעַלְתֶּ֜ם בִּ֗י בְּתוֹךְ֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל בְּמֵֽי־מְרִיבַ֥ת קָדֵ֖שׁ מִדְבַּר־צִ֑ן עַ֣ל אֲשֶׁ֤ר לֹֽא־קִדַּשְׁתֶּם֙ אוֹתִ֔י בְּת֖וֹךְ בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל:
52 For from afar, you will see the land, but you will not come there, to the land I am giving the children of Israel. נבכִּ֥י מִנֶּ֖גֶד תִּרְאֶ֣ה אֶת־הָאָ֑רֶץ וְשָׁ֨מָּה֙ לֹ֣א תָב֔וֹא אֶל־הָאָ֕רֶץ אֲשֶׁר־אֲנִ֥י נֹתֵ֖ן לִבְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל:

HA – AZINU

Deuteronomio 32

(1) ¡Escuchad o cielos y hablaré; que oiga la tierra las palabras de mi boca!

(2) Mi enseñanza caerá sobre vosotros como la lluvia y mi palabra fluirá como el rocío, como llovizna sobre los tiernos brotes y como aguacero sobre la hierba.

(3) Cuando invoque el Nombre del Eterno, glorificad a nuestro Dios.

(4) Él es la Roca y Sus obras son perfectas, como perfectos son Sus juicios, Su fidelidad y Su rectitud.

(5) La corrupción no es de Él sino de Sus hijos, integrantes de una generación perversa y torcida.

(6) ¿Así pagáis al Eterno, oh pueblo ruin e insensato? ¿Acaso no es Él el Padre que te crió, te hizo pueblo entre los pueblos y te estableció?

(7) Acuérdate de los días antiguos. Piensa en los años de tantas generaciones, oh Israel. Pregunta a tu padre y te lo dirá. Pregunta a tus ancianos y te lo dirán.

(8) Cuando el Dios Supremo dio a cada pueblo su heredad, dividió a los hijos del hombre y fijó los límites de los pueblos conforme al número de los hijos de Israel.

(9) Y Su pueblo es posesión Suya. Jacob es Su heredad.

(10) Lo halló en un desierto, en la mayor soledad y lo amparó, le enseñó Su camino y lo cuidó como a la niña de Sus ojos,

(11) como el águila que agita su nido, revolotea sobre su cría, extiende sus alas y toma a sus polluelos entre sus plumas.

(12) Así lo guío el Eterno sin la ayuda de ningún Dios extraño.

(13) Lo condujo a las alturas de la tierra para que comieran el fruto de los campos y le dio a sorber miel de la roca y aceite de la dura peña;

(14) le dio crema batida de vaca y leche de oveja, con la grosura de los corderos, de los corderos de Basán y machos cabríos con la flor del trigo. Y bebió la espumosa sangre de la uva.

 (15) Pero Jesurún (Yeshurún, el pueblo de Israel), al engordar, se encabrió. Al cubrirse de gordura, abandonó a Dios su Creador y se olvidó de la Roca de su salvación.

(16) Lo provocaron celándolo con dioses extraños, con abominaciones que causaron Su gran ira.

(17) Ofrecieron sacrificios a demonios que no son Dios, dioses que no conocían, a nuevos dioses vecinos a quienes tus padres nunca reverenciaron.

(18) No te acordaste de la Roca que te había sustentado y te olvidaste del Dios que te hizo nacer.

(19) Y cuando el Eterno lo vio, se burló de ellos, por la provocación de sus hijos y de sus hijas.

(20) Entonces dijo:  ”Esconderé Mi rostro de ellos y veré como terminarán porque es una generación perversa de hijos impíos.

(21) Con sus vanidades, suscitaron Mi cólera y Mis celos de dioses que no son tales. Por eso, Yo los provocaré con cualquier pueblo sin importancia.

(22) Las llamas del fuego de Mi ira llegará hasta el abismo más profundo, abrasarán la tierra y las bases mismas de las montañas.

(23) Agotaré los males que puedo causarle y dirigiré contra ellos todas Mis saetas.

(24) Serán aniquilados por el hombre, por el calor sofocante y por la gran destrucción. Enviaré contra ellos hasta los dientes de las bestias salvajes y el veneno de los reptiles que se arrastran por el polvo.

(25) La espada los exterminará por fuera y el espasmo los consumiré por dentro, tanto al mancebo como a la doncella, tanto al niño de pecho como al hombre canoso.

(26) Dije para Mí que los esparciré por todos los confines hasta desaparecer todo recuerdo de ellos entre los hombres,

(27) si no fuera que el enemigo, pronto a pelear encarnizadamente contra ellos, ensoberbecido por la victoria, se atribuyera al mérito a sí mismo y no al Eterno

(28) Son un pueblo mal aconsejado y carente de entendimiento.

(29) Si fueran sabios, comprenderían esto y sabrían el fin que les espera.

(30) ¿Cómo puede uno solo perseguir a un millar, y dos hacer huir a una multitud, sin contar con el apoyo de la Roca, con la ayuda decisiva del Eterno?

(31) La roca de ellos no es como la Roca nuestra, pero son jueces nuestros.

(32) El vino de ellos es de las viñas de Sodoma y de Gomorra. Sus uvas son como la hiel y sus racimos son amargos.

(33) Ponzoña de serpiente es su vino, veneno mortal de áspides.

(34) ¿Acaso no tengo esto bien guardado entre mis tesoros?

(35) Mías son la venganza y las recompensa, para cuando tropiece el pie. Y el día de su calamidad está cercano; las cosas que sobrevendrán se aproximarán rápidamente.

(36) El Eterno hará justicia a Su pueblo y se apiadará de él cuando haya agotado Sus castigos.

(37) Entonces dirá Él: “¿Dónde están tus dioses, la roca en quién confiaron?

(38) ¿Quién comió la grosura de sus sacrificios y quien bebió el vino de sus libaciones? Que acudan en vuestra ayuda y os protejan.

(39) Ved pues que la Roca soy Yo, solamente Yo y ningún otro Dios Me acompaña. Yo doy la muerte y doy la vida. Yo hiero y curo; nadie puede liberarse de Mi mano.

(40) Alzo Mi mano al cielo jurando por Mi vida eterna

(41) que cuando afile Mi espada relampagueante y que en Mi mano tome el juicio, me vengaré de mis enemigos de quienes me aborrecen.

(42) Haré que Mis saetas se embriaguen de sangre y que Mi espada se harte de carne. Fluirá en abundancia la sangre de los muertos, de los cautivos y de las cabezas de los jefes enemigos”.

(43) “Exaltad, oh pueblos, al pueblo Suyo, porque Él vengará la sangre de Sus siervos y castigará a Sus adversarios; hará la expiación de la tierra y de Su pueblo”.

(44) Vino Moisés y entonó ese cántico en los oídos del pueblo, él y Josué hijo de Nun.

(45) “Moisés concluyó sus enseñanzas a todo Israel diciendo:

(46) “Poned vuestro corazón en todas las palabras que hoy puse como testimonio ante vosotros y comunicadlas a vuestros hijos para que también cumpla todos los mandatos de esta Ley;

(47) pues no son cosas vanas para vosotros: son vuestra vida. Por ellas podréis prolongar vuestros días en al tierra que heredaréis cuando hayáis cruzado el Jordán”.

(48) Y le dijo el Eterno a Moisés ese mismo día:

(49) “Sube a este monte Abarim (Avarim) –el monte Nebo (N´vá), en la tierra de Moab (Moav), frente a Jericó (Yericó) – y contempla la tierra de Canaán, que doy a los hijos de Israel por heredad;

(50) muere en esta montaña para reunirte con tu pueblo como Aarón, tu hermano murió en el monte Or (Hor) para reunirse con su pueblo,

(51) por cuanto prevaricasteis contra Mí, entre los hijos de Israel ante el manantial de Meribá Cades (Merivat Cadesh), en el desierto de Sin (Tzin), al no santificarme entre los hijos de Israel.

(52) Sin embargo, contemplarás de lejos la tierra que doy a los hijos de Israel, a la cual no podrás entrar”.

Reflexión:

¿Vieron que Moisés convoca a los cielos y a la tierra?

¡Glorifiquemos el Nombre del Eterno!

Él es nuestra Roca, Él es nuestro Padre, Él nos crió, Sus obras son perfectas, como perfectos son Sus juicios, Su fidelidad y Su rectitud.

Interesante:

Menciona  las divisiones y límites de los pueblos, dice que fueron hechos conforme a los números de los hijos de Israel.

¡Cuánto Amor del Eterno para Israel!:

“(10) Lo halló en un desierto, en la mayor soledad y lo amparó, le enseñó Su camino y lo cuidó como a la niña de Sus ojos, (11) como el águila que agita su nido, revolotea sobre su cría, extiende sus alas y toma a sus polluelos entre sus plumas”.

¿Acaso es uno de los motivos por lo que no los destruye?

(..) Ya que el enemigo esta pronto a pelear encarnizadamente contra ellos, ensoberbecido por la victoria, se atribuyera al mérito a sí mismo y no al Eterno.

¿Acaso está diciendo que las autoridades que tiene, adoran a otros dioses? ¿Quiénes estarán en el Keneseth?

(31) La roca de ellos no es como la Roca nuestra, pero son jueces nuestros.

¿Acaso el Eterno ha abandonado a Su pueblo para siempre? ¡De ninguna manera!

 (36) El Eterno hará justicia a Su pueblo y se apiadará de él cuando haya agotado Sus castigos.

¡¿Quién es nuestra Roca?! ¡¿Quién da la muerte y la vida?! ¡¿Quién pone la herida y quien da la cura?!

(39) Ved pues que la Roca soy Yo, solamente Yo y ningún otro Dios Me acompaña. Yo doy la muerte y doy la vida. Yo hiero y curo; nadie puede liberarse de Mi mano.

¿De quién es la venganza?

(35) Mías son la venganza y las recompensa, para cuando tropiece el pie. Y el día de su calamidad está cercano; las cosas que sobrevendrán se aproximarán rápidamente.

¿Cuántos Dioses hay? ¡Un solo Dios! ¡Su nombre es UNO!

(39) Ved pues que la Roca soy Yo, solamente Yo y ningún otro Dios Me acompaña. Yo doy la muerte y doy la vida. Yo hiero y curo; nadie puede liberarse de Mi mano.

La promesa:

(39) Alzo Mi mano al cielo jurando por Mi vida eterna

(41) que cuando afile Mi espada relampagueante y que en Mi mano tome el juicio, me vengaré de mis enemigos de quienes me aborrecen (…)

¡¿Acaso está convocando a las Naciones a exaltar a la heredad de Jacob,  Israel?!

(43) “Exaltad, oh pueblos, al pueblo Suyo, porque Él vengará la sangre de Sus siervos y castigará a Sus adversarios; hará la expiación de la tierra y de Su pueblo”.

1And Moses went, and he spoke the following words to all Israel. אוַיֵּ֖לֶךְ משֶׁ֑ה וַיְדַבֵּ֛ר אֶת־הַדְּבָרִ֥ים הָאֵ֖לֶּה אֶל־כָּל־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל:
2He said to them, “Today I am one hundred and twenty years old. I can no longer go or come, and the Lord said to me, “You shall not cross this Jordan.” בוַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵהֶ֗ם בֶּן־מֵאָה֩ וְעֶשְׂרִ֨ים שָׁנָ֤ה אָֽנֹכִי֙ הַיּ֔וֹם לֹֽא־אוּכַ֥ל ע֖וֹד לָצֵ֣את וְלָב֑וֹא וַֽיהֹוָה֙ אָמַ֣ר אֵלַ֔י לֹ֥א תַֽעֲבֹ֖ר אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּ֥ן הַזֶּֽה:
3The Lord, your God He will cross before you; He will destroy these nations from before you so that you will possess them. Joshua, he will cross before you, as the Lord has spoken. גיְהֹוָ֨ה אֱלֹהֶ֜יךָ ה֣וּא | עֹבֵ֣ר לְפָנֶ֗יךָ הֽוּא־יַשְׁמִ֞יד אֶת־הַגּוֹיִ֥ם הָאֵ֛לֶּה מִלְּפָנֶ֖יךָ וִֽירִשְׁתָּ֑ם יְהוֹשֻׁ֗עַ ה֚וּא עֹבֵ֣ר לְפָנֶ֔יךָ כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֖ר דִּבֶּ֥ר יְהֹוָֽה:
4And the Lord will do to them, as He did to the Amorite kings, Sihon and Og, and to their land, [all of] which He destroyed. דוְעָשָׂ֤ה יְהֹוָה֙ לָהֶ֔ם כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֗ה לְסִיח֥וֹן וּלְע֛וֹג מַלְכֵ֥י הָֽאֱמֹרִ֖י וּלְאַרְצָ֑ם אֲשֶׁ֥ר הִשְׁמִ֖יד אֹתָֽם:
5And [when] the Lord delivers them before you, you shall do to them according to all the commandment that I have commanded you. הוּנְתָנָ֥ם יְהֹוָ֖ה לִפְנֵיכֶ֑ם וַֽעֲשִׂיתֶ֣ם לָהֶ֔ם כְּכָ֨ל־הַמִּצְוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוִּ֖יתִי אֶתְכֶֽם:
6Be strong and courageous! Neither fear nor be dismayed of them, for the Lord, your God He is the One Who goes with you. He will neither fail you nor forsake you.” וחִזְק֣וּ וְאִמְצ֔וּ אַל־תִּֽירְא֥וּ וְאַל־תַּֽעַרְצ֖וּ מִפְּנֵיהֶ֑ם כִּ֣י | יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֗יךָ ה֚וּא הַֽהֹלֵ֣ךְ עִמָּ֔ךְ לֹ֥א יַרְפְּךָ֖ וְלֹ֥א יַֽעַזְבֶֽךָּ:
7And Moses called Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous! For you shall come with this people to the land which the Lord swore to their forefathers to give them. And you shall apportion it to them as an inheritance. זוַיִּקְרָ֨א משֶׁ֜ה לִֽיהוֹשֻׁ֗עַ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר אֵלָ֜יו לְעֵינֵ֣י כָל־יִשְׂרָאֵל֘ חֲזַ֣ק וֶֽאֱמָץ֒ כִּ֣י אַתָּ֗ה תָּבוֹא֙ אֶת־הָעָ֣ם הַזֶּ֔ה אֶל־הָאָ֕רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֨ר נִשְׁבַּ֧ע יְהֹוָ֛ה לַֽאֲבֹתָ֖ם לָתֵ֣ת לָהֶ֑ם וְאַתָּ֖ה תַּנְחִילֶ֥נָּה אוֹתָֽם:
8The Lord He is the One Who goes before you; He will be with you; He will neither fail you nor forsake you. Do not fear, and do not be dismayed.” חוַֽיהֹוָ֞ה ה֣וּא | הַֽהֹלֵ֣ךְ לְפָנֶ֗יךָ ה֚וּא יִֽהְיֶ֣ה עִמָּ֔ךְ לֹ֥א יַרְפְּךָ֖ וְלֹ֥א יַֽעַזְבֶ֑ךָּ לֹ֥א תִירָ֖א וְלֹ֥א תֵחָֽת:
9Then Moses wrote this Torah and gave it to the priests, the descendants of Levi, who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and to all the elders of Israel. טוַיִּכְתֹּ֣ב משֶׁה֘ אֶת־הַתּוֹרָ֣ה הַזֹּאת֒ וַיִּתְּנָ֗הּ אֶל־הַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙ בְּנֵ֣י לֵוִ֔י הַנֹּ֣שְׂאִ֔ים אֶת־אֲר֖וֹן בְּרִ֣ית יְהֹוָ֑ה וְאֶל־כָּל־זִקְנֵ֖י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל:
10Then, Moses commanded them, saying, “At the end of [every] seven years, at an appointed time, in the Festival of Succoth, [after] the year of release, יוַיְצַ֥ו משֶׁ֖ה אוֹתָ֣ם לֵאמֹ֑ר מִקֵּ֣ץ | שֶׁ֣בַע שָׁנִ֗ים בְּמֹעֵ֛ד שְׁנַ֥ת הַשְּׁמִטָּ֖ה בְּחַ֥ג הַסֻּכּֽוֹת:
11When all Israel comes to appear before the Lord, your God, in the place He will choose, you shall read this Torah before all Israel, in their ears. יאבְּב֣וֹא כָל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל לֵֽרָאוֹת֙ אֶת־פְּנֵי֙ יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ בַּמָּק֖וֹם אֲשֶׁ֣ר יִבְחָ֑ר תִּקְרָ֞א אֶת־הַתּוֹרָ֥ה הַזֹּ֛את נֶ֥גֶד כָּל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל בְּאָזְנֵיהֶֽם:
12Assemble the people: the men, the women, and the children, and your stranger in your cities, in order that they hear, and in order that they learn and fear the Lord, your God, and they will observe to do all the words of this Torah. יבהַקְהֵ֣ל אֶת־הָעָ֗ם הָֽאֲנָשִׁ֤ים וְהַנָּשִׁים֙ וְהַטַּ֔ף וְגֵֽרְךָ֖ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בִּשְׁעָרֶ֑יךָ לְמַ֨עַן יִשְׁמְע֜וּ וּלְמַ֣עַן יִלְמְד֗וּ וְיָֽרְאוּ֙ אֶת־יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֔ם וְשָֽׁמְר֣וּ לַֽעֲשׂ֔וֹת אֶת־כָּל־דִּבְרֵ֖י הַתּוֹרָ֥ה הַזֹּֽאת:
13And their children, who did not know, will hear and learn to fear the Lord, your God, all the days that you live on the land, to which you are crossing the Jordan, to possess. יגוּבְנֵיהֶ֞ם אֲשֶׁ֣ר לֹא־יָֽדְע֗וּ יִשְׁמְעוּ֙ וְלָ֣מְד֔וּ לְיִרְאָ֖ה אֶת־יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֑ם כָּל־הַיָּמִ֗ים אֲשֶׁ֨ר אַתֶּ֤ם חַיִּים֙ עַל־הָ֣אֲדָמָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר אַתֶּ֜ם עֹֽבְרִ֧ים אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּ֛ן שָׁ֖מָּה לְרִשְׁתָּֽהּ:
14And the Lord said to Moses, “Behold, your days are approaching [for you] to die. Call Joshua and stand in the Tent of Meeting, and I will inspire him. So Moses and Joshua went and stood in the Tent of Meeting. ידוַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהֹוָ֜ה אֶל־משֶׁ֗ה הֵ֣ן קָֽרְב֣וּ יָמֶ֘יךָ֘ לָמוּת֒ קְרָ֣א אֶת־יְהוֹשֻׁ֗עַ וְהִתְיַצְּב֛וּ בְּאֹ֥הֶל מוֹעֵ֖ד וַֽאֲצַוֶּ֑נּוּ וַיֵּ֤לֶךְ משֶׁה֙ וִֽיהוֹשֻׁ֔עַ וַיִּתְיַצְּב֖וּ בְּאֹ֥הֶל מוֹעֵֽד:
15And the Lord appeared in the Tent, in a pillar of cloud. The pillar of cloud stood at the entrance to the Tent. טווַיֵּרָ֧א יְהֹוָ֛ה בָּאֹ֖הֶל בְּעַמּ֣וּד עָנָ֑ן וַיַּֽעֲמֹ֛ד עַמּ֥וּד הֶֽעָנָ֖ן עַל־פֶּ֥תַח הָאֹֽהֶל:
16And the Lord said to Moses: Behold, you are [about to] lie with your forefathers, and this nation will rise up and stray after the deities of the nations of the land, into which they are coming. And they will forsake Me and violate My covenant which I made with them. טזוַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהֹוָה֙ אֶל־משֶׁ֔ה הִנְּךָ֥ שֹׁכֵ֖ב עִם־אֲבֹתֶ֑יךָ וְקָם֩ הָעָ֨ם הַזֶּ֜ה וְזָנָ֣ה | אַֽחֲרֵ֣י | אֱלֹהֵ֣י נֵֽכַר־הָאָ֗רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֨ר ה֤וּא בָא־שָׁ֨מָּה֙ בְּקִרְבּ֔וֹ וַֽעֲזָבַ֕נִי וְהֵפֵר֙ אֶת־בְּרִיתִ֔י אֲשֶׁ֥ר כָּרַ֖תִּי אִתּֽוֹ:
17And My fury will rage against them on that day, and I will abandon them and hide My face from them, and they will be consumed, and many evils and troubles will befall them, and they will say on that day, ‘Is it not because our God is no longer among us, that these evils have befallen us?’ יזוְחָרָ֣ה אַפִּ֣י ב֣וֹ בַיּֽוֹם־הַ֠ה֠וּא וַֽעֲזַבְתִּ֞ים וְהִסְתַּרְתִּ֨י פָנַ֤י מֵהֶם֙ וְהָיָ֣ה לֶֽאֱכֹ֔ל וּמְצָאֻ֛הוּ רָע֥וֹת רַבּ֖וֹת וְצָר֑וֹת וְאָמַר֙ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֔וּא הֲלֹ֗א עַ֣ל כִּי־אֵ֤ין אֱלֹהַי֙ בְּקִרְבִּ֔י מְצָא֖וּנִי הָֽרָע֥וֹת הָאֵֽלֶּה:
18And I will hide My face on that day, because of all the evil they have committed, when they turned to other deities. יחוְאָֽנֹכִ֗י הַסְתֵּ֨ר אַסְתִּ֤יר פָּנַי֙ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֔וּא עַ֥ל כָּל־הָֽרָעָ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָשָׂ֑ה כִּ֣י פָנָ֔ה אֶל־אֱלֹהִ֖ים אֲחֵרִֽים:
19And now, write for yourselves this song and teach it to the Children of Israel. Place it into their mouths, in order that this song will be for Me as a witness for the children of Israel. יטוְעַתָּ֗ה כִּתְב֤וּ לָכֶם֙ אֶת־הַשִּׁירָ֣ה הַזֹּ֔את וְלַמְּדָ֥הּ אֶת־בְּנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל שִׂימָ֣הּ בְּפִיהֶ֑ם לְמַ֨עַן תִּֽהְיֶה־לִּ֜י הַשִּׁירָ֥ה הַזֹּ֛את לְעֵ֖ד בִּבְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל:
20When I bring them to the land which I have sworn to their forefathers [to give them], a land flowing with milk and honey, they will eat and be satisfied, and live on the fat [of the land]. Then, they will turn to other deities and serve them, provoking Me and violating My covenant. כ כִּֽי־אֲבִיאֶ֜נּוּ אֶל־הָֽאֲדָמָ֣ה | אֲשֶׁר־נִשְׁבַּ֣עְתִּי לַֽאֲבֹתָ֗יו זָבַ֤ת חָלָב֙ וּדְבַ֔שׁ וְאָכַ֥ל וְשָׂבַ֖ע וְדָשֵׁ֑ן וּפָנָ֞ה אֶל־אֱלֹהִ֤ים אֲחֵרִים֙ וַֽעֲבָד֔וּם וְנִ֣אֲצ֔וּנִי וְהֵפֵ֖ר אֶת־בְּרִיתִֽי:
21And it will be when they will encounter many evils and troubles, this song will bear witness against them, for it will not be forgotten from the mouth of their offspring. For I know their inclination what they [are planning] to do today, [even] before I bring them into the land which I have sworn [to give them].” כאוְהָיָ֠ה כִּֽי־תִמְצֶ֨אןָ אֹת֜וֹ רָע֣וֹת רַבּוֹת֘ וְצָרוֹת֒ וְ֠עָֽנְתָ֠ה הַשִּׁירָ֨ה הַזֹּ֤את לְפָנָיו֙ לְעֵ֔ד כִּ֛י לֹ֥א תִשָּׁכַ֖ח מִפִּ֣י זַרְע֑וֹ כִּ֧י יָדַ֣עְתִּי אֶת־יִצְר֗וֹ אֲשֶׁ֨ר ה֤וּא עֹשֶׂה֙ הַיּ֔וֹם בְּטֶ֣רֶם אֲבִיאֶ֔נּוּ אֶל־הָאָ֖רֶץ אֲשֶׁ֥ר נִשְׁבָּֽעְתִּי:
22And Moses wrote this song on that day, and taught it to the children of Israel. כבוַיִּכְתֹּ֥ב משֶׁ֛ה אֶת־הַשִּׁירָ֥ה הַזֹּ֖את בַּיּ֣וֹם הַה֑וּא וַיְלַמְּדָ֖הּ אֶת־בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל:
23And He commanded Joshua the son of Nun, and said: “Be strong and courageous! For you shall bring the children of Israel to the land that I have sworn to them, and I will be with you.” כגוַיְצַ֞ו אֶת־יְהוֹשֻׁ֣עַ בִּן־נ֗וּן וַיֹּ֘אמֶר֘ חֲזַ֣ק וֶֽאֱמָץ֒ כִּ֣י אַתָּ֗ה תָּבִיא֙ אֶת־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֶל־הָאָ֖רֶץ אֲשֶׁר־נִשְׁבַּ֣עְתִּי לָהֶ֑ם וְאָֽנֹכִ֖י אֶֽהְיֶ֥ה עִמָּֽךְ:
24And it was, when Moses finished writing the words of this Torah in a scroll, until their very completion, כדוַיְהִ֣י | כְּכַלּ֣וֹת משֶׁ֗ה לִכְתֹּ֛ב אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֥י הַתּוֹרָֽה־הַזֹּ֖את עַל־סֵ֑פֶר עַ֖ד תֻּמָּֽם:
25that Moses commanded the Levites, who carried the ark of the covenant of the Lord, saying: כהוַיְצַ֤ו משֶׁה֙ אֶת־הַֽלְוִיִּ֔ם נֹֽשְׂאֵ֛י אֲר֥וֹן בְּרִֽית־יְהֹוָ֖ה לֵאמֹֽר:
26“Take this Torah scroll and place it alongside the ark of covenant of the Lord, your God, and it will be there as a witness. כולָקֹ֗חַ אֵ֣ת סֵ֤פֶר הַתּוֹרָה֙ הַזֶּ֔ה וְשַׂמְתֶּ֣ם אֹת֔וֹ מִצַּ֛ד אֲר֥וֹן בְּרִֽית־יְהֹוָ֖ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֑ם וְהָֽיָה־שָׁ֥ם בְּךָ֖ לְעֵֽד:
27For I know your rebellious spirit and your stubbornness. Even while I am alive with you today you are rebelling against the Lord, and surely after my death! כזכִּ֣י אָֽנֹכִ֤י יָדַ֨עְתִּי֙ אֶת־מֶרְיְךָ֔ וְאֶת־עָרְפְּךָ֖ הַקָּשֶׁ֑ה הֵ֣ן בְּעוֹדֶ֩נִּי֩ חַ֨י עִמָּכֶ֜ם הַיּ֗וֹם מַמְרִ֤ים הֱיִתֶם֙ עִם־יְהֹוָ֔ה וְאַ֖ף כִּי־אַֽחֲרֵ֥י מוֹתִֽי:
28Assemble to me all the elders of your tribes and your officers, and I will speak these words into their ears, and I will call upon the heaven and the earth as witnesses against them. כחהַקְהִ֧ילוּ אֵלַ֛י אֶת־כָּל־זִקְנֵ֥י שִׁבְטֵיכֶ֖ם וְשֹֽׁטְרֵיכֶ֑ם וַֽאֲדַבְּרָ֣ה בְאָזְנֵיהֶ֗ם אֵ֚ת הַדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה וְאָעִ֣ידָה בָּ֔ם אֶת־הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם וְאֶת־הָאָֽרֶץ:
29For I know that after my death, you will surely become corrupted, and deviate from the way which I had commanded you. Consequently, the evil will befall you at the end of days, because you did evil in the eyes of the Lord, to provoke Him to anger through the work of your hands. כטכִּ֣י יָדַ֗עְתִּי אַֽחֲרֵ֤י מוֹתִי֙ כִּֽי־הַשְׁחֵ֣ת תַּשְׁחִת֔וּן וְסַרְתֶּ֣ם מִן־הַדֶּ֔רֶךְ אֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוִּ֖יתִי אֶתְכֶ֑ם וְקָרָ֨את אֶתְכֶ֤ם הָֽרָעָה֙ בְּאַֽחֲרִ֣ית הַיָּמִ֔ים כִּי־תַֽעֲשׂ֤וּ אֶת־הָרַע֙ בְּעֵינֵ֣י יְהֹוָ֔ה לְהַכְעִיס֖וֹ בְּמַֽעֲשֵׂ֥ה יְדֵיכֶֽם:
30Then, Moses spoke into the ears of the entire assembly of Israel the words of the following song, until their completion. לוַיְדַבֵּ֣ר משֶׁ֗ה בְּאָזְנֵי֙ כָּל־קְהַ֣ל יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֖י הַשִּׁירָ֣ה הַזֹּ֑את עַ֖ד תֻּמָּֽם:

Deuteronomio 31

(1) Y Moisés fue y dijo esta palabras a todo Israel:

(2) “Hoy cumplo ciento veinte años. Ya no puedo salir ni entrar”. Además me dijo el Eterno: “Tu no cruzarás el Jordán”.

(3) El Eterno tu Dios marchará delante de ti, oh Israel, exterminará a esos pueblos delante de ti como lo prometió y Josué (Yehoshúa) estará al frente de ti.

(4) Y el Eterno hará con ellos  lo que hizo con Sijón y con Og, reyes amorrreos y con sus respectivas tierras.

(5) Y te los entregará ante tu faz para que hagas con ellos conforme a las órdenes que te di,

(6) Esforzaos pues y sed valientes. No les temáis, porque el Eterno tu Dios está contigo y no te abandonará”.

(7) Y Moisés llamó a Josué y le dijo ante los ojos de todo Israel: “Sé fuerte y valiente porque debes ir con este pueblo a la tierra que el Eterno juró a tus padres que les daría; tú harás que este pueblo la herede,

(8) El Eterno marchará delante de ti. Estará contigo y no te abandonará. No temas pues, ni te desanimes”.

(9) Y escribió Moisés esta Ley y la entregó a los sacerdotes levitas que portaban el Arca del acto del Eterno y a todos los ancianos de Israel.

(10) Y les ordenó Moisés: “Al cabo de siete años, en el año de la remisión de las deudas por préstamos, en la fiesta de los tabernáculos (Sucot),

(11) cuando todo Israel sea convocado ante el Eterno tu Dios en el lugar que Él escogerá (por santuario), leerás esta ley ante Israel para que todos la oigan.

(12) Reunirás para ello a toda la gente: hombres, mujeres, niños y forasteros para que aprendan a temer al Eterno vuestro Dios y observen todos los preceptos de esta Ley.

(13) Y sus hijos que no la conocen escucharán y aprenderán también a temer al Eterno vuestro Dios todos los días que vivirás en la tierra que vais a poseer allende al Jordán”.

(14) Y le dijo el Eterno a Moisés: “He aquí que se aproxima el día de tu muerte. Llama a Josué y esperad a la entrada del tabernáculo

de reunión donde Yo le impondré Mis cargos”. Y Moisés y Josué fueron al tabernáculo,

(15) donde el Eterno se les apareció en medio de una columna de nube, a la entrada del santuario.

(16) Entonces le dijo el Eterno a Moisés: “He aquí que yacerás con tus padres y este pueblo se alzará prostituyendose tras dioses extraños del país donde estrará, Me abandonará y romperá el pacto que establecí con él.

(17) Ese día se encendera Mi cólera contra ellos, los abandonaré, les ocultaré Mi rostro y serán aniquilados por la multitud de males

que les sobrevendrá, de manera que drirán a la sazón: “Ciertamente nos ocurre esta desgracia por no estar nuestro Dios entre nosotros”.

(18) Y ese día, Yo les ocultaré Mi rostro por las abominaciones en que incurrieron volviéndose a otros dioses.

(19) Y ahora escribid este cántico para enseñarlo a los hijos de Israel poniendolos en su boca como testimonio Mío contra ellos,

(20) ya que cuando los traigas a la tierra prometida a sus padres, tierra que mana leche y miel, una vez que se sacien y engorden, se volverán a otros dioses y les servirán, quebrantando Mi Pacto y provocándome.

(21) Y ocurrirá que cuando tantos males y desgracias les sobrevengan, este cántico será testimonio contra ellos porque lo que ha de sueceder no será olvidado por su simiente. Sé que acontecerá porque conozco la índole de este pueblo aun antes que ingrese a la tierra que le prometí”.

(22) Y Moisés escribió este cántico ese mismo día y lo enseñó a los hijos de Israel.

(23) Y le ordenó a Josué hijo de Nun: “Sé fuerte y animoso porque tú conducirás a los hijos de Israel a la tierra que le prometí y yo estaré contigo”.

(24) Ocurrio, cuando Moisés terminó de escribir las palabras de la Ley en un libro hasta completarlo,

(25) que ordenó a los levitas que portaban el Arca del pacto del Eterno;

(26) “Tomad este libro de la ley y ponedlo en el Arca del Pacto del Eterno, vuestro Dios para que esté allí como testimonio contra ti, oh Israel,

(27) por cuanto conozco tu rebeldía y tu dura cerviz. Si estando yo vivo con vosotros habéis sido rebeldes para con el Eterno,  ¡cuánto más lo seréis después de mi muerte!

(28) Congregadme a todos los ancianos de vuestras tribus y a los oficiales de justicia para que diga estas palabras a sus oídos y llame al cielo y a la tierra como testigos contra ellos, 

(29) por cuanto sé que después de mi muerte, os corrompiréis y os apartaréis del camino que os fijé y la desgracia os acaecerá hasta el fin de los días por vuestra impiedad a los ojos del Eterno; Su ira reacerá sobre toda obra de vuestras manos”.

(30) Y entonó Moisés ante los oídos de toda la congregación de Israel este cántico, hasta terminarlo.
