Gantz: We may have to impose partial or full lockdown

Defense Minister Benny Gantz warns Israelis the country could be heading to a partial or full lockdown to stem the spread of the coronavirus.

In an interview with the Kan public broadcaster, an excerpt of which was aired in a preview, Gantz says: “I want the public to know that there could be a situation in which we will need to return to a partial lockdown or a full lockdown, or to step up the restrictions.”

He predicts the coronavirus could remain a threat “for a year and a half or even more.”

The full interview will be aired on Kan’s nightly news.

Daniel – Chapter 2

21 And He changes the times and the seasons, He removes kings and sets up kings; He grants wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who know understanding. כאוְ֠הוּא מְהַשְׁנֵ֚א עִדָּֽנַיָּא֙ וְזִמְנַיָּ֔א מְהַעְדֵּ֥ה מַלְכִ֖ין וּמְהָקֵ֣ים מַלְכִ֑ין יָהֵ֚ב חָכְמְתָא֙ לְחַכִּימִ֔ין וּמַנְדְּעָ֖א לְיָֽדְעֵ֥י בִינָֽה:
22 He reveals the profound and secret things; He knows what is in the dark, and light dwells with Him. כבה֛וּא גָּלֵ֥א עַמִּֽיקָתָ֖א וּמְסַתְּרָתָ֑א יָדַע֙ מָ֣ה בַֽחֲשׁוֹכָ֔א וּנְהוֹרָ֖א (כתיב וּנְהֹירָ֖א) עִמֵּ֥הּ שְׁרֵֽא:

Daniel 2

(20) Daniel habló y dijo: “bendito sea el nombre de Dios para siempre, porque la sabiduría y el poder son Suyos.

(21) Y Él cambia los tiempos y las estaciones, quita reyes y pone reyes, le da sabiduría al sabio y conocimiento a los que tienen comprensión.

37 You, O King, the King of kings, the God of heaven gave you a strong, powerful, and prominent kingdom. לזאַ֣נְתְּ (כתיב אַ֣נְתְּה) מַלְכָּ֔א מֶ֖לֶךְ מַלְכַיָּ֑א דִּי אֱלָ֣הּ שְׁמַיָּ֔א מַלְכוּתָ֥א חִסְנָ֛א וְתָקְפָּ֥א וִֽיקָרָ֖א יְהַב־לָֽךְ:
38 And wherever people, wild beasts, and birds of the sky dwell, He has given into your hand and has given you dominion over them all. Daniel 2

(37) Tú, oh rey, rey de reyes, a quien el Dios del cielo ha dado el reino el poder, la fuerza y la gloria,

6 And they cried out to the Lord in their distress; from their straits He rescued them. ווַיִּצְעֲק֣וּ אֶל־יְ֖הֹוָה בַּצַּ֣ר לָהֶ֑ם מִ֜מְּצוּקֽוֹתֵיהֶ֗ם יַצִּילֵֽם:
7 And He led them on a straight road, to go to an inhabited city. זוַיַּדְרִיכֵם בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ יְשָׁרָ֑ה לָ֜לֶ֗כֶת אֶל־עִ֥יר מוֹשָֽׁב:

11 For they rebelled against the words of God, and they scorned the counsel of the Most High. יאכִּֽי־הִ֖מְרוּ אִמְרֵי־אֵ֑ל וַֽעֲצַ֖ת עֶלְי֣וֹן נָאָֽצוּ:
12 And He humbled their heart with toil; they stumbled with no one to help them. יבוַיַּכְנַ֣ע בֶּֽעָמָ֣ל לִבָּ֑ם כָּֽ֜שְׁל֗וּ וְאֵ֣ין עֹזֵֽר:
13 And they cried out to the Lord in their distress; from their straits He saved them. יגוַיִּזְעֲק֣וּ אֶל־יְ֖הֹוָה בַּצַּ֣ר לָהֶ֑ם מִ֜מְּצֻקֽוֹתֵיהֶ֗ם יֽוֹשִׁיעֵֽם:
14 He took them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and He broke open their bonds. ידיֽוֹצִיאֵם מֵחֹ֣שֶׁךְ וְצַלְמָ֑וֶת וּמֽוֹסְר֖וֹתֵיהֶ֣ם יְנַתֵּֽק:
15 They shall give thanks to the Lord for His kindness, and for His wonders to the children of men. טויוֹד֣וּ לַיהֹוָ֣ה חַסְדּ֑וֹ וְ֜נִפְלְאוֹתָ֗יו לִבְנֵ֥י אָדָֽם:
16 For He broke copper doors, and cut off iron bars. טזכִּֽי־שִׁ֖בַּר דַּלְת֣וֹת נְחֹ֑שֶׁת וּבְרִיחֵ֖י בַרְזֶ֣ל גִּדֵּֽעַ:
17 Fools, because of the way of their transgression and because of their iniquities, are afflicted. יזאֱוִלִים מִדֶּ֣רֶךְ פִּשְׁעָ֑ם וּ֜מֵֽעֲוֹנֹ֖תֵיהֶ֣ם יִתְעַנּֽוּ:
18 Their soul despises all food, and they reach the portals of death. יחכָּל־אֹ֖כֶל תְּתַעֵ֣ב נַפְשָׁ֑ם וַ֜יַּגִּ֗יעוּ עַד־שַׁ֥עֲרֵי מָֽוֶת:
19 And they cried out to the Lord in their distress; from their straits He saved them. יטוַיִּזְעֲק֣וּ אֶל־יְהֹוָה בַּצַּ֣ר לָהֶ֑ם מִ֜מְּצֻקֽוֹתֵיהֶ֗ם יֽוֹשִׁיעֵֽם:
20 He sent His word and healed them, and extricated them from their pit. כיִשְׁלַ֣ח דְּ֖בָרוֹ וְיִרְפָּאֵ֑ם וִֽ֜ימַלֵּ֗ט מִשְּׁחִֽיתוֹתָֽם:
21 They shall give thanks to the Lord for His kindness, and for His wonders to the children of men. כאיוֹד֣וּ לַֽיהֹוָ֣ה חַסְדּ֑וֹ וְ֜נִפְלְאוֹתָ֗יו לִבְנֵ֥י אָדָֽם:
22 And they shall slaughter sacrifices of thanksgiving, and they shall tell of His deeds with song. כבוְיִזְבְּחוּ זִבְחֵ֣י תוֹדָ֑ה וִֽיסַפְּר֖וּ מַֽעֲשָׂ֣יו בְּרִנָּֽה:
23 Those who go down to the sea in ships, who do work in mighty waters. כגיֽוֹרְדֵ֣י הַ֖יָּם בָּֽאֳנִיּ֑וֹת עֹ֘שֵׂ֥י מְ֜לָאכָ֗ה בְּמַ֣יִם רַבִּֽים:
24 They saw the deeds of the Lord and His wonders in the deep. כדהֵ֣מָּה רָאוּ מַֽעֲשֵׂ֣י יְהֹוָ֑ה וְ֜נִפְלְאוֹתָ֗יו בִּמְצוּלָֽה:
25 He spoke, and He set up a tempest, and it raised its waves. כהוַיֹּ֗אמֶר וַ֖יַּֽעֲמֵד ר֥וּחַ סְעָרָ֑ה וַתְּר֘וֹמֵ֥ם גַּלָּֽיו:
26 They went up to the heavens, they came down to the depths; their soul melted with trouble. כויַֽעֲל֣וּ שָׁ֖מַיִם יֵֽרְד֣וּ תְהוֹמ֑וֹת נַ֜פְשָׁ֗ם בְּרָ֘עָ֥ה תִתְמוֹגָֽג:
27 They were frightened and staggered like a drunkard, and all their wisdom was destroyed. כזיָח֣וֹגּוּ וְ֖יָנוּעוּ כַּשִּׁכּ֑וֹר וְכָל־חָ֜כְמָתָ֗ם תִּתְבַּלָּֽע:
28 They cried out to the Lord from their distress, that He take them out of their straits. כחוַיִּצְעֲק֣וּ אֶל־יְ֖הֹוָה בַּצַּ֣ר לָהֶ֑ם וּ֜מִמְּצוּקֹֽתֵיהֶ֗ם יוֹצִיאֵֽם:
29 The tempest He had set up [settled] into a calm, and their waves were stilled. כטיָקֵ֣ם סְעָרָה לִדְמָמָ֑ה וַ֜יֶּֽחֱשׁ֗וּ גַּלֵּיהֶֽם:
30 They rejoiced that they were stilled, and He led them to the region of their desire. לוַיִּשְׂמְח֥וּ כִֽי־יִשְׁתֹּ֑קוּ וַ֜יַּנְחֵ֗ם אֶל־מְח֥וֹז חֶפְצָֽם:
31 They shall thank the Lord for His kindness, and for His wonders to the children of men. לאיוֹד֣וּ לַֽיהֹוָ֣ה חַסְדּ֑וֹ וְ֜נִפְלְאוֹתָ֗יו לִבְנֵ֥י אָדָֽם:
32 And they shall exalt Him in an assembly of people, and in a sitting of elders, praise Him. לבוִיר֣וֹמְמוּהוּ בִּקְהַל־עָ֑ם וּבְמוֹשַׁ֖ב זְקֵנִ֣ים יְהַֽלְלֽוּהוּ:

37 And they sow fields and plant vineyards, which produce fruits and grain. לזוַיִּזְרְע֣וּ שָׂ֖דוֹת וַיִּטְּע֣וּ כְרָמִ֑ים וַֽ֜יַּֽעֲשׂ֗וּ פְּרִ֣י תְבוּאָֽה:
38 And He blessed them, and they multiplied exceedingly, and their animals did not decrease. לחוַיְבָ֣רֲכֵם וַיִּרְבּ֣וּ מְאֹ֑ד וּ֜בְהֶמְתָּ֗ם לֹ֣א יַמְעִֽיט:
39 Whereas they were few and they sank down from dominion, trouble, and sorrow. לטוַיִּמְעֲט֥וּ וַיָּשֹׁ֑חוּ מֵעֹ֖צֶר רָעָ֣ה וְיָגֽוֹן:
40 He pours contempt upon princes and leads them astray in a wasteland where there is no path. משֹׁפֵ֣ךְ בּ֖וּז עַל־נְדִיבִ֑ים וַ֜יַּתְעֵ֗ם בְּתֹ֣הוּ לֹא־דָֽרֶךְ:
41 And He strengthened the needy from poverty and made him families like flocks. מאוַיְשַׂגֵּ֣ב אֶבְי֣וֹן מֵע֑וֹנִי וַיָּ֥שֶׂם כַּ֜צֹּ֗אן מִשְׁפָּחֽוֹת:
42The upright see and rejoice, and all injustice shuts its mouth. מביִרְא֣וּ יְשָׁרִ֣ים וְיִשְׂמָ֑חוּ וְכָל־עַ֜וְלָ֗ה קָ֣פְצָה פִּֽיהָ:
43 He who is wise will keep these in mind, and they will ponder the kind deeds of the Lord. מגמִֽי־חָ֖כָם וְיִשְׁמָר־אֵ֑לֶּה וְ֜יִֽתְבּֽוֹנְנ֗וּ חַסְדֵּ֥י יְהֹוָֽה:

Los Salmos 107

(1) “Alabad al Eterno, porque es benevolente y Su misericordia perdura para siempre”.

(2) Así digan los redimidos del Eterno, a quienes Él libró de la mano del adversario,

(3) y reunió de las tierras, desde el oriente hasta el occidente, y desde el norte, y desde el mar.

(4) Vagaron por el desierto donde nada había. No encontaron morada alguna.

(5) Hambrientos y sedientos, sus almas desfallecieron.

(6) Entonces clamaron al Eterno en medio de sus tribulaciones, y Él los libró de sus apreturas.

(7) Y los condujo por un camino derecho, para que pudieran ir a una ciudad habitada.

(8) Alaben ellos al Eterno por Su misericordia y Sus obras maravillosas para con los hijos de los hombres,

(9) porque satisfizo el alma ansiosa, y el alma hambrienta Él la llenó de bien.

(10) Estaban sentados en tinieblas y en las sombras de la muerte, cautivos por la aflicción y por hierro,

(11) porque se habían rebelado contra las palabras de Dios y habían desoído el consejo del Altísimo.

(12) Por lo tanto Él humilló el corazón de ellos con trabajos. Tropezaron y no hubo quien los ayudara.

(13) Clamaron al Eterno en medio de sus padecimientos, y Él los salvó,

(14) Sacándolos de las tinieblas y de las sombras de la muerte y rompiendo sus cadenas.

(15) Alaben ellos al Eterno por Su misericordia y por Sus obras marvillosas para con los hijos de hombre,

(16) porque ÉL rompió los portones de bronce y corto las barras de hierro aprisionadoras.

(17) Enloquecidos por el camino de sus transgresiones, y afligidos a causa de sus iniquidades,

(18) sus almas aborrecían toda clase de alimentos, y se acercaban a los portones de la muerte.

(19) Clamaron pues al Eterno en medio de sus tribulaciones, y Él los salvó.

(20) Envió Su palabra y los sanó, y los libró de sus tumbas.

(21) Alaben ellos al Eterno por Su misericordia y por Sus obras maravillosas para los hijos de los hombres,

(22) y ofrezcan los sacrificos de la alabanza, y declaren Sus obras cantando.

(23) Los que bajan al mar en barcos, los que trafican e las grandes aguas,

(24) vieron las obras del Eterno, y sus maravillas en las profundidades.

(25) Porque Él ordena, y se levanta el viento tormentoso que levanta las olas,

(26) las que ascienden al cielo y bajan a los abismos. Su alma se derrite por causa del mal.

(27) Van de un lado al otro y tambalean como un borracho, y toda su sabiduría es tragada.

(28) Claman (los marinos) al Eterno en su aflicción, y Él los saca de apreturas.

(29) Aquieta la tormenta, de manera que las olas se aplacan.

(30) Entonces se alegran porque las olas se aquietaron, y Él los conduce a su deseado puerto.

(31) Alaben ellos al Eterno por Su misericordia y Sus obras maravillosas para con los hijos de los hombre.

(32) Exáltenle también ante la congregación del pueblo, y alábenle en el consejo de los ancianos.

(34) y una tierra fructífera en un erial salitroso, por la maldad de quienes moran allí.

(35) Torna un desierto en un estanque de agua, y una tierra seca en  manantiales,

(36) y allí hace residir al hambriento, y establece una ciudad para habitar,

(37) y siembra los campos, y planta viñedos, que rinden frutos abundantes.

(38) Él también los bendice, de modo que se multiplican en gran manera, y no tolera que su ganado decrezca.

(39) Y otra vez son disminuidos y abatidos, a causa de la opresión del mal y de los padecimientos.

(40) Él derrama desprecio sobre los príncipes, y hace que vaguen por el desierto sin caminos.

(41) Pero levanta al necesitado de la miseria y hace que su familia sea como un rebaño.

(42) Lo ve le recto y se alegra, y toda la iniquidad cierra su boca.

(43) El que sea sensato observe estas cosas, y considere las compasiones del Eterno.

1 Now Satan arose upon Israel, and he moved David to count Israel. אוַיַּֽעֲמֹ֥ד שָׂטָ֖ן עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיָּ֙סֶת֙ אֶת־דָּוִ֔יד לִמְנ֖וֹת אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל:
2 And David said to Joab and to the princes of the people, “Go count Israel from Beersheba until Dan, and bring me [word], so that I may know their number.” בוַיֹּ֨אמֶר דָּוִ֚יד אֶל־יוֹאָב֙ וְאֶל־שָׂרֵ֣י הָעָ֔ם לְכ֗וּ סִפְרוּ֙ אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל מִבְּאֵ֥ר שֶׁ֖בַע וְעַד־דָּ֑ן וְהָבִ֣יאוּ אֵלָ֔י וְאֵֽדְעָ֖ה אֶת־מִסְפָּרָֽם:
3 And Joab replied, “May the Lord add to His people a hundredfold of whatsoever they may be. My lord, the king, are they not all servants to my lord? Why does my lord request this? 4 But the king’s word prevailed over Joab, and Joab went forth and walked throughout Israel, and came to Jerusalem. דוּדְבַר־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ חָזַ֣ק עַל־יוֹאָ֑ב וַיֵּצֵ֣א יוֹאָ֗ב וַיִּתְהַלֵּךְ֙ בְּכָל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַיָּבֹ֖א יְרֽוּשָׁלִָֽם:
5 And Joab gave the number of the census of the people to David, and all Israel were a thousand thousand and a hundred thousand men who draw the sword, and Judah was four hundred seventy thousand men who draw the sword. הוַיִּתֵּ֥ן יוֹאָ֛ב אֶת־מִסְפַּ֥ר מִפְקַד־הָעָ֖ם אֶל־דָּוִ֑יד וַיְהִ֣י כָל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֡ל אֶ֣לֶף אֲלָפִים֩ וּמֵאָ֨ה אֶ֚לֶף אִישׁ֙ שֹׁ֣לֵ֥ף חֶ֔רֶב וִֽיהוּדָ֕ה אַרְבַּע֩ מֵא֨וֹת וְשִׁבְעִ֥ים אֶ֛לֶף אִ֖ישׁ שֹׁ֥לֵ֣ף חָֽרֶב:
6 But Levi and Benjamin he did not count among them because the word of the king was repugnant to Joab. ווְלֵוִי֙ וּבִנְיָמִ֔ן לֹ֥א פָקַ֖ד בְּתוֹכָ֑ם כִּֽי־נִתְעַ֥ב דְּבַר־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ אֶת־יוֹאָֽב:
7 Now God was displeased because of this thing, and He smote Israel. זוַיֵּ֙רַע֙ בְּעֵינֵ֣י הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים עַל־הַדָּבָ֖ר הַזֶּ֑ה וַיַּ֖ךְ אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵֽל:
8 And David said to God, “I have sinned greatly in that I have done this thing, and now, please put aside the iniquity of Your servant, for I was very foolish.” חוַיֹּ֚אמֶר דָּוִיד֙ אֶל־הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים חָטָ֣אתִי מְאֹ֔ד אֲשֶׁ֥ר עָשִׂ֖יתִי אֶת־הַדָּבָ֣ר הַזֶּ֑ה וְעַתָּ֗ה הַֽעֲבֶר־נָא֙ אֶת־עֲו֣וֹן עַבְדְּךָ֔ כִּ֥י נִסְכַּ֖לְתִּי מְאֹֽד:
9 And the Lord spoke to Gad, David’s seer, saying: טוַיְדַבֵּ֚ר יְהֹוָה֙ אֶל־גָּ֔ד חֹזֵ֥ה דָוִ֖יד לֵאמֹֽר:
10 “Go and speak to David, saying: So said the Lord: Three things I offer you; choose one of them, and I shall do it to you.” ילֵךְ֩ וְדִבַּרְתָּ֨ אֶל־דָּוִ֜יד לֵאמֹ֗ר כֹּה אָמַ֣ר יְהֹוָ֔ה שָׁל֕וֹשׁ אֲנִ֖י נֹטֶ֣ה עָלֶ֑יךָ בְּחַר־לְךָ֛ אַחַ֥ת מֵהֵ֖נָּה וְאֶֽעֱשֶׂה־לָּֽךְ:
11 And Gad came to David, and said to him, “So said the Lord; Choose which you will. יאוַיָּ֥בֹא גָ֖ד אֶל־דָּוִ֑יד וַיֹּ֥אמֶר ל֛וֹ כֹּֽה־אָמַ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה קַבֶּל־לָֽךְ:
12 Either three years famine or three months in which you will be destroyed by your enemies, and the sword of your enemies will overtake you, or three days of the sword of the Lord and pestilence in the land, and the angel of the Lord destroying throughout the boundary of Israel; and now consider what I should reply to Him Who sent me.” יבאִם־שָׁל֨וֹשׁ שָׁנִ֜ים רָעָ֗ב וְאִם־שְׁלֹשָׁ֨ה חֳדָשִׁ֜ים נִסְפֶּ֥ה מִפְּנֵֽי־צָרֶיךָ֘ וְחֶ֣רֶב אֽוֹיְבֶ֣יךָ| לְמַשֶּׂגֶת֒ וְאִם־שְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת יָ֠מִי֠ם חֶ֣רֶב יְהֹוָ֚ה| וְדֶ֙בֶר֙ בָּאָ֔רֶץ וּמַלְאַ֣ךְ יְהֹוָ֔ה מַשְׁחִ֖ית בְּכָל־גְּב֣וּל יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְעַתָּ֣ה רְאֵ֔ה מָה־אָשִׁ֥יב אֶת־שֹֽׁלְחִ֖י דָּבָֽר:
13 And David said to Gad, “I am greatly oppressed; let me fall now into the hand of the Lord, for His mercies are great, but into the hand of man let me not fall.” יגוַיֹּ֧אמֶר דָּוִ֛יד אֶל־גָּ֖ד צַר־לִ֣י מְאֹ֑ד אֶפְּלָה־נָּ֣א בְיַד־יְהֹוָ֗ה כִּֽי־רַבִּ֚ים רַֽחֲמָיו֙ מְאֹ֔ד וּבְיַד־אָדָ֖ם אַל־אֶפֹּֽל:
14 So the Lord sent a pestilence upon Israel, and there fell from Israel seventy thousand men. ידוַיִּתֵּ֧ן יְהֹוָ֛ה דֶּ֖בֶר בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וַיִּפֹּל֙ מִיִּשְׂרָאֵ֔ל שִׁבְעִ֥ים אֶ֖לֶף אִֽישׁ:
15 And God sent an angel to Jerusalem to destroy it, and as he destroyed, the Lord saw and regretted the evil, and He said to the destroying angel, “It is enough; now stay your hand,” and the angel of the Lord was standing by the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite. טווַיִּשְׁלַח֩ הָֽאֱלֹהִ֨ים| מַלְאָ֥ךְ| לִירֽוּשָׁלִַם֘ לְהַשְׁחִיתָהּ֒ וּכְהַשְׁחִ֗ית רָאָ֚ה יְהֹוָה֙ וַיִּנָּ֣חֶם עַל־הָֽרָעָ֔ה וַיֹּ֨אמֶר לַמַּלְאָ֚ךְ הַמַּשְׁחִית֙ רַ֔ב עַתָּ֖ה הֶ֣רֶף יָדֶ֑ךָ וּמַלְאַ֚ךְ יְהֹוָה֙ עֹמֵ֔ד עִם־גֹּ֖רֶן אָרְנָ֥ן הַיְבוּסִֽי:
16 And David lifted his eyes and saw the angel of the Lord standing between the earth and the sky, with a drawn sword in his hand, extended over Jerusalem, and David and the elders, covered with sackcloth, fell upon their faces. טזוַיִּשָּׂ֨א דָוִ֜יד אֶת־עֵינָ֗יו וַיַּ֞רְא אֶת־מַלְאַ֚ךְ יְהֹוָה֙ עֹמֵ֔ד בֵּ֚ין הָאָ֙רֶץ֙ וּבֵ֣ין הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וְחַרְבּ֚וֹ שְׁלוּפָה֙ בְּיָד֔וֹ נְטוּיָ֖ה עַל־יְרֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם וַיִּפֹּ֨ל דָּוִ֧יד וְהַזְּקֵנִ֛ים מְכֻסִּ֥ים בַּשַּׂקִּ֖ים עַל־פְּנֵיהֶֽם:
17 And David said to God, “Did I not say to count the people? Then I am the one who has sinned, and I have committed evil, but these sheep, what have they done? O Lord, my God, I beg that Your hand be against me and against my father’s house, but not against Your people for a plague.” יזוַיֹּ֣אמֶר דָּוִ֣יד אֶל־הָֽאֱלֹהִ֡ים הֲלֹא֩ אֲנִ֨י אָמַ֜רְתִּי לִמְנ֣וֹת בָּעָ֗ם וַֽאֲנִי־ה֚וּא אֲשֶׁר־חָטָ֙אתִי֙ וְהָרֵ֣עַ הֲרֵע֔וֹתִי וְאֵ֥לֶּה הַצֹּ֖אן מֶ֣ה עָשׂ֑וּ יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהַ֗י תְּהִ֨י נָ֚א יָֽדְךָ֙ בִּי וּבְבֵ֣ית אָבִ֔י וּבְעַמְּךָ֖ לֹ֥א לְמַגֵּפָֽה:
18 And the angel of the Lord said to Gad to say to David that David should go up to erect an altar to the Lord in the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite. יחוּמַלְאַ֧ךְ יְהֹוָ֛ה אָמַ֥ר אֶל־גָּ֖ד לֵאמֹ֣ר לְדָוִ֑יד כִּ֣י| יַֽעֲלֶ֣ה דָוִ֗יד לְהָקִ֚ים מִזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ לַֽיהֹוָ֔ה בְּגֹ֖רֶן אָרְנָ֥ן הַיְבֻסִֽי:
19 And David went up according to the word of Gad that he spoke in the name of the Lord. יטוַיַּ֚עַל דָּוִיד֙ בִּדְבַר־גָּ֔ד אֲשֶׁ֥ר דִּבֶּ֖ר בְּשֵׁ֥ם יְהֹוָֽה:
20 And Ornan returned and saw the angel, and his four sons who were with him hid themselves, and Ornan was threshing wheat. כוַיָּ֣שָׁב אָרְנָ֗ן וַיַּרְא֙ אֶת־הַמַּלְאָ֔ךְ וְאַרְבַּ֧עַת בָּנָ֛יו עִמּ֖וֹ מִתְחַבְּאִ֑ים וְאָרְנָ֖ן דָּ֥שׁ חִטִּֽים:
21 And David came up to Ornan, and Ornan looked and saw David, and he went forth from the threshing-floor, and he bowed down to David with his face to the ground. כאוַיָּבֹ֥א דָוִ֖יד עַד־אָרְנָ֑ן וַיַּבֵּ֚ט אָרְנָן֙ וַיַּ֣רְא אֶת־דָוִ֔יד וַיֵּצֵא֙ מִן־הַגֹּ֔רֶן וַיִּשְׁתַּ֧חוּ לְדָוִ֛יד אַפַּ֖יִם אָֽרְצָה:
22 And David said to Ornan, “Give me the place of the threshing-floor, so that I may build thereon an altar to the Lord; give it to me for the full price, so that the plague be stayed from the people.” כבוַיֹּ֨אמֶר דָּוִ֜יד אֶל־אָרְנָ֗ן תְּנָה־לִּי֙ מְק֣וֹם הַגֹּ֔רֶן וְאֶבְנֶה־בּ֥וֹ מִזְבֵּ֖חַ לַֽיהֹוָ֑ה בְּכֶ֚סֶף מָלֵא֙ תְּנֵ֣הוּ לִ֔י וְתֵֽעָצַ֥ר הַמַּגֵּפָ֖ה מֵעַ֥ל הָעָֽם:
23 And Ornan said to David, “Take for yourself, and may my lord the king do what seems good in his eyes. See, I have given the cattle for burnt offerings, and the threshing tools for [fire] wood, and the wheat for a meal offering; I have given everything.” כגוַיֹּ֨אמֶר אָרְנָ֚ן אֶל־דָּוִיד֙ קַח־לָ֔ךְ וְיַ֛עַשׂ אֲדֹנִ֥י הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ הַטּ֣וֹב בְּעֵינָ֑יו רְאֵה֩ נָתַ֨תִּי הַבָּקָ֜ר לָֽעֹל֗וֹת וְהַמּֽוֹרִגִ֧ים לָֽעֵצִ֛ים וְהַֽחִטִּ֥ים לַמִּנְחָ֖ה הַכֹּ֥ל נָתָֽתִּי:
24 And King David said to Ornan, “No, for I will buy [it] for the full price, for I will not take what is yours for the Lord, and offer up burnt offerings for nothing.” כדוַיֹּ֨אמֶר הַמֶּ֚לֶךְ דָּוִיד֙ לְאָרְנָ֔ן לֹ֕א כִּֽי־קָנֹ֥ה אֶקְנֶ֖ה בְּכֶ֣סֶף מָלֵ֑א כִּ֠י לֹֽא־אֶשָּׂ֚א אֲשֶׁר־לְךָ֙ לַיהֹוָ֔ה וְהַֽעֲל֥וֹת עוֹלָ֖ה חִנָּֽם:
25 And David gave to Ornan for the place shekels of gold weighing six hundred. כהוַיִּתֵּ֥ן דָּוִ֛יד לְאָרְנָ֖ן בַּמָּק֑וֹם שִׁקְלֵ֣י זָהָ֔ב מִשְׁקַ֖ל שֵׁ֥שׁ מֵאֽוֹת:
26 And David built an altar there to the Lord, and he offered up burnt offerings and peace offerings, and he called out to the Lord, and He answered him with fire from heaven on the altar of the burnt offerings. כווַיִּבֶן֩ שָׁ֨ם דָּוִ֚יד מִזְבֵּ֙חַ֙ לַֽיהֹוָ֔ה וַיַּ֥עַל עֹל֖וֹת וּשְׁלָמִ֑ים וַיִּקְרָא֙ אֶל־יְהֹוָ֔ה וַיַּֽעֲנֵ֚הוּ בָאֵשׁ֙ מִן־הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם עַ֖ל מִזְבַּ֥ח הָֽעֹלָֽה:
27 And the Lord commanded the angel, and he returned his sword to its sheath. כזוַיֹּ֚אמֶר יְהֹוָה֙ לַמַּלְאָ֔ךְ וַיָּ֥שֶׁב חַרְבּ֖וֹ אֶל־נְדָנָֽהּ:
28 At that time, when David saw that the Lord had answered him in the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite, he sacrificed there. כחבָּעֵ֣ת הַהִ֔יא בִּרְא֚וֹת דָּוִיד֙ כִּֽי־עָנָ֣הוּ יְהֹוָ֔ה בְּגֹ֖רֶן אָרְנָ֣ן הַיְבוּסִ֑י וַיִּזְבַּ֖ח שָֽׁם:
29 And the Tabernacle of the Lord, which Moses made in the desert, and the altar of the burnt offerings at that time were in the high place in Gibeon. כטוּמִשְׁכַּ֣ן יְ֠הֹוָה אֲשֶׁר־עָשָׂ֨ה מֹשֶׁ֧ה בַמִּדְבָּ֛ר וּמִזְבַּ֥ח הָֽעוֹלָ֖ה בָּעֵ֣ת הַהִ֑יא בַּבָּמָ֖ה בְּגִבְעֽוֹן:
30 But David could not go before it to inquire of God, because he was frightened by the sword of the angel of the Lord. לוְלֹֽא־יָכֹ֥ל דָּוִ֛יד לָלֶ֥כֶת לְפָנָ֖יו לִדְרֹ֣שׁ אֱלֹהִ֑ים כִּ֣י נִבְעַ֔ת מִפְּנֵ֕י חֶ֖רֶב מַלְאַ֥ךְ יְהֹוָֽה:

PRIMER LIBRO DE CRÓNICAS 21

(1 )Y se alzo satán contra Israel, e impulsó a David a que se censa a Israel.

(2) Dijo pues David a Joab y a los príncipes del pueblo: “Id y contad a Israel desde Berseba(Beer Sheva)

(3) Y dijo Joab: “Haga el Eterno a Su pueblo cien veces más de lo que son, pero, oh rey señor mío, ¿no son todos siervos de mi señor? ¿Por qué entonces mi señor requiere esta cosa? ¿Por qué ha de incurrir en pecado para Israel?”.

(4) Pero la palabra del rey prevaleció contra Joab, por lo que Joab partió y fue por todo Israel, y llegó a Jerusalem.

(5) Y (al final) Joab le dio a David la suma de la gente que había contado y todos los de Israel eran un millar de millares y cien mil hombres que portaba espada; de Judá erán cuatrocientos setenta mil hombres que portaban espada.

(6) Pero a los Leví y de Benjamín no los contó, porque le era abominable a Joab la orden del rey.

(7) Y a Dios le desagradó (también) la cosa, por lo que irío a Israel.

(8) Y David le dijo a Dios: “He pecado en gran manera al hacer esta cosa, pero ahora Te ruego que perdones la iniquidad de Tu siervo, porque he obrado insensatamente”.

(9) Y el Eterno le respondió a Gad, vidente de David, diciendo:

(10) “Ve y habla a David diciendole: Así dice en Eterno: te ofrezco tres cosas; elige un de ellas, para que Yo te la haga”.

(11) Y Gad vino a David y le dijo: “Así dice el Eterno: Escoge lo que quieras:

(12) Tres años de hambre, tres años de hostigamiento por tus enemigos, en tanto que te alcanzará la espada de tus adversarios o bien tres días de espada del Eterno, peste en la tierra, y destrucción por el angél del Eterno hasta todos los confines de Israel. Considera pues que respuesta he de dar a Quien me envió”

(13) Y le contestó David a Gad: “Estoy en gran aprieto. Caiga yo en mano del Eterno, porque muy grande es Su compasión, y no caiga yo en la mano del hombre”.

(14) El Eterno pues envió una peste sobre Israel, y cayeron de Israel setenta mil hombres.

(15) Y Dios envió a un ángel a Jerusalem para destruirla y cuando estaba a punto de destruirla, he aquí que el Eterno se arrepintio del mal y le dijo al angel destructor: “Basta , detén tu mano”. Y el ángel del Eterno se paró junto a la era de Ornín jebuseo (yevusí).

(16) Y David alzó la vista y vio al ángel del Eterno detenido entre la tierra y el cielo, empuñando en la mano una espada dirigida a Jerusalem.

Entonces se posternaron David y los ancianos, cubiertos de saco.

(17) Y le dijo David a Dios: “¿ No soy quien ordenó que se censara al pueblo? ¿No soy yo quien pecó obrando inicuamente? Pero estas ovejas, ¿qué han hecho? te ruego, oh Eterno, Dios mío, que Tu mano sea contra mí y contra la casa de mi padre, y no contra Tu pueblo, que sufre estas plagas”.

(18) Entonces el ángel del Eterno le ordenó a Gad que le dijera a David que David subiera y erigiera un altar en la era de Ornán jebuseo.

(19) Y David subió ante las palabras de Gad, dichas en el nombre del Eterno.

(20) Y Ornán retrocedió y vio al ángel; sus cuatro hijos que estaban con él se escondieron. Y Ornán estaba trillando el trigo.

(21) Y cuando David vino a Ornán, Ornán miró y vio a David, salió del granero y se inclinó ante David rostro a tierra.

(22) Y le dijo David a Ornan: Dáme el lugar de esta era para que pueda construir aqui un altar al Eterno. me lo darás por su precio íntegro, para que sea detenida esta plaga sobre el pueblo”.

(23) Y le respondió Ornan a David: ·Tómalo, y haga mi señor el rey lo que le parezca bien a sus ojos. He aquí que doy bueyes para los holocaustos y los trillos para la leña y el trigo para ofrenda vegetal. Todo te lo doy”.

(24) pero le dijo el rey David a Ornán: “No porque he de comprártelo por el precio total, ya que no tomaré lo que es tuyo para el Eterno, ni ofreceré un holocausto sin costo”.

(25) De tal suerte David le dio a ornan por el lugar seiscientos siglos de oro por peso.

(26) Y David erigió allí un altar al Eterno, y ofreció holocausto y ofrendas pacíficas; invocó al Eterno y Él respondió desde el cielo con el fuego sobre el altar del holocausto.

(27) Y el Eterno dio orden al ángel y éste envainó su espada.

(28) A la sazón, cuando David vio que el Eterno le había respondido en la era de Ornán jebuseo, sacrificó allí.

(29) Por cuanto el Tabernáculo del Eterno que hizo Moisés (Moshe) en el desierto y el altar de los holocaaustos estaban en ese tiempo en el alto de Gabaón.

(30) Pero David no podía ir ante él para consultar a Dios, pues estaba aterrado a causa de la espada del ángel del Eterno.
