That force that holds electrons in their orbit and planets in theirs, explodes incessantly within the stars above and is the darkness that fills the empty space—that force is a single whole, and it is G‑d.

It is not all of G‑d. It is an expression of G‑d. All of it could disappear in a single instant, and for Him nothing would have changed.

Where is it that you can find all of G‑d? Wherever He wishes to be found.

On the festival of Sukkot, for example, He hides within some scattered branches placed upon an autumn hut.

Esa fuerza que mantiene a los electrones en su órbita y a los planetas en la suya, explota incesantemente dentro de las estrellas de arriba y es la oscuridad que llena el espacio vacío; esa fuerza es un todo único, y es Di-s.

No es todo de Di-s. Es una expresión de Di-s. Todo podría desaparecer en un solo instante, y para Él nada habría cambiado.

¿Dónde puedes encontrar todo Di-s? Donde quiera que Él desee ser encontrado.

En la fiesta de Sucot, por ejemplo, se esconde entre algunas ramas esparcidas colocadas sobre una cabaña de otoño.

35 On the first day, it is a holy occasion; you shall not perform any work of labor. להבַּיּ֥וֹם הָֽרִאשׁ֖וֹן מִקְרָא־קֹ֑דֶשׁ כָּל־מְלֶ֥אכֶת עֲבֹדָ֖ה לֹ֥א תַֽעֲשֽׂוּ:

(34) “Dile a los hijos de Israel. El día quince del mes séptimo será la festividad de las cabañas (Sucot) para el Eterno, que durará siete días.

41 And you shall celebrate it as a festival to the Lord for seven days in the year. [It is] an eternal statute throughout your generations [that] you celebrate it in the seventh month. מאוְחַגֹּתֶ֤ם אֹתוֹ֙ חַ֣ג לַֽיהֹוָ֔ה שִׁבְעַ֥ת יָמִ֖ים בַּשָּׁנָ֑ה חֻקַּ֤ת עוֹלָם֙ לְדֹרֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם בַּחֹ֥דֶשׁ הַשְּׁבִיעִ֖י תָּחֹ֥גּוּ אֹתֽוֹ:

Levíticos 23

(40) Y tomaréis para vosotros frutos de cidra (árbol cítrico), hojas de Palm, ramas de mirto y de sauce del arroyo, y os regocijaréis ante el Eterno, vuestro Dios durante siete días.

(41) Será una fiesta al Eterno de siete días en el año. Ley eterna será para vosotros esta fiesta, para que la celebréis anualmente cada més séptimo.

1. ¿Por qué estamos comandados a sentarnos en una sucá?

La Torá dice “Habitarán en chozas durante un periodo de siete días; todo nativo en Israel habitará en chozas. A fin de que sus generaciones sepan que en chozas Yo hice habitar a los Hijos de Israel cuando los saqué de la tierra de Egipto” (Levítico 23:42-43).

Cuando los judíos salieron de Egipto y viajaron por el desierto eran cerca de 3 millones de personas en número. El desierto es un lugar de gran desolación habitado por víboras y serpientes mortales, y no había protección del ardiente calor del sol. Dios por lo tanto, milagrosamente, protegió a Su nación elegida rodeándolos con siete nubes de gloria – cuatro a los lados, una por arriba, una debajo de ellos como alfombra y una para guiar el camino. Estamos comandados a sentarnos en una Sucá para recordar este maravilloso y milagroso acto de bondad

2. ¿Por qué esta mitzvá es realizada en el mes de Tishrei?

Aunque el pueblo judío salió de Egipto en el mes de Nisán y experimentó la protección de las nubes de gloria de Dios inmediatamente, la mitzvá de la sucá fue pospuesta hasta Tishrei. Entre las muchas razones dadas están:*…(

“Deberás tomar (…) la bella fruta (Etrog), una hoja de palmera (Lulav), ramas de mirto (Adasim) y ramas de sauce (Aravot), y regocíjense durante siete días frente a Hashem tu Dios” (Levítico 23:40).
