Para Shabat durante Sucot es costumbre que las velas se enciendan en la Sucá.

Devarim – Deuteronomy – Chapter 6

4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord is our God; the Lord is one.		דשְׁמַ֖ע יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ יְהֹוָ֥ה | אֶחָֽד:
5 And you shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your means.		הוְאָ֣הַבְתָּ֔ אֵ֖ת יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֶ֑יךָ בְּכָל־לְבָֽבְךָ֥ וּבְכָל־נַפְשְׁךָ֖ וּבְכָל־מְאֹדֶֽךָ:
6 And these words, which I command you this day, shall be upon your heart.		ווְהָי֞וּ הַדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֗לֶּה אֲשֶׁ֨ר אָֽנֹכִ֧י מְצַוְּךָ֛ הַיּ֖וֹם עַל־לְבָבֶֽךָ:
7 And you shall teach them to your sons and speak of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk on the way, and when you lie down and when you rise up.		זוְשִׁנַּנְתָּ֣ם לְבָנֶ֔יךָ וְדִבַּרְתָּ֖ בָּ֑ם בְּשִׁבְתְּךָ֤ בְּבֵיתֶ֨ךָ֙ וּבְלֶכְתְּךָ֣ בַדֶּ֔רֶךְ וּבְשָׁכְבְּךָ֖ וּבְקוּמֶֽךָ:
8 And you shall bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they shall be for ornaments between your eyes.		חוּקְשַׁרְתָּ֥ם לְא֖וֹת עַל־יָדֶ֑ךָ וְהָי֥וּ לְטֹֽטָפֹ֖ת בֵּ֥ין עֵינֶֽיךָ:
9 And you shall inscribe them upon the doorposts of your house and upon your gates.

4 Oye, Israel: Jehová es nuestro Dios; el Señor es uno.

5 Y amarás al Señor, tu Dios, con todo tu corazón, con toda tu alma y con todos tus medios.

6 Y estas palabras que yo te mando hoy, estarán sobre tu corazón.

7 Y las enseñarás a tus hijos y hablarás de ellas cuando te sientes en tu casa y cuando andes por el camino, cuando te acuestes y cuando te levantes.

8 Y las atarás por señal en tu mano, y serán por adorno entre tus ojos.

13 And it will be, if you hearken to My commandments that I command you this day to love the Lord, your God, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul,		יגוְהָיָ֗ה אִם־שָׁמֹ֤עַ תִּשְׁמְעוּ֙ אֶל־מִצְו‍ֹתַ֔י אֲשֶׁ֧ר אָֽנֹכִ֛י מְצַוֶּ֥ה אֶתְכֶ֖ם הַיּ֑וֹם לְאַֽהֲבָ֞ה אֶת־יְהֹוָ֤ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶם֙ וּלְעָבְד֔וֹ בְּכָל־לְבַבְכֶ֖ם וּבְכָל־נַפְשְׁכֶֽם:
14I will give the rain of your land at its time, the early rain and the latter rain, and you will gather in your grain, your wine, and your oil.		ידוְנָֽתַתִּ֧י מְטַר־אַרְצְכֶ֛ם בְּעִתּ֖וֹ יוֹרֶ֣ה וּמַלְק֑וֹשׁ וְאָֽסַפְתָּ֣ דְגָנֶ֔ךָ וְתִירֽשְׁךָ֥ וְיִצְהָרֶֽךָ:
15And I will give grass in your field for your livestock, and you will eat and be sated.		טווְנָֽתַתִּ֛י עֵ֥שֶׂב בְּשָֽׂדְךָ֖ לִבְהֶמְתֶּ֑ךָ וְאָֽכַלְתָּ֖ וְשָׂבָֽעְתָּ:
16Beware, lest your heart be misled, and you turn away and worship strange gods and prostrate yourselves before them.		טזהִשָּֽׁמְר֣וּ לָכֶ֔ם פֶּן־יִפְתֶּ֖ה לְבַבְכֶ֑ם וְסַרְתֶּ֗ם וַֽעֲבַדְתֶּם֙ אֱלֹהִ֣ים אֲחֵרִ֔ים וְהִשְׁתַּֽחֲוִיתֶ֖ם לָהֶֽם:
17And the wrath of the Lord will be kindled against you, and He will close off the heavens, and there will be no rain, and the ground will not give its produce, and you will perish quickly from upon the good land that the Lord gives you.		יזוְחָרָ֨ה אַף־יְהֹוָ֜ה בָּכֶ֗ם וְעָצַ֤ר אֶת־הַשָּׁמַ֨יִם֙ וְלֹא־יִֽהְיֶ֣ה מָטָ֔ר וְהָ֣אֲדָמָ֔ה לֹ֥א תִתֵּ֖ן אֶת־יְבוּלָ֑הּ וַֽאֲבַדְתֶּ֣ם מְהֵרָ֗ה מֵעַל֙ הָאָ֣רֶץ הַטֹּבָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה נֹתֵ֥ן לָכֶֽם:
18And you shall set these words of Mine upon your heart and upon your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand and they shall be for ornaments between your eyes.		יחוְשַׂמְתֶּם֙ אֶת־דְּבָרַ֣י אֵ֔לֶּה עַל־לְבַבְכֶ֖ם וְעַל־נַפְשְׁכֶ֑ם וּקְשַׁרְתֶּ֨ם אֹתָ֤ם לְאוֹת֙ עַל־יֶדְכֶ֔ם וְהָי֥וּ לְטֽוֹטָפֹ֖ת בֵּ֥ין עֵֽינֵיכֶֽם:
19 And you shall teach them to your sons to speak with them, when you sit in your house and when you walk on the way and when you lie down and when you rise.		יטוְלִמַּדְתֶּ֥ם אֹתָ֛ם אֶת־בְּנֵיכֶ֖ם לְדַבֵּ֣ר בָּ֑ם בְּשִׁבְתְּךָ֤ בְּבֵיתֶ֨ךָ֙ וּבְלֶכְתְּךָ֣ בַדֶּ֔רֶךְ וּבְשָׁכְבְּךָ֖ וּבְקוּמֶֽךָ:
20 And you shall inscribe them upon the doorposts of your house and upon your gates,		כוּכְתַבְתָּ֛ם עַל־מְזוּז֥וֹת בֵּיתֶ֖ךָ וּבִשְׁעָרֶֽיךָ:
21 in order that your days may increase and the days of your children, on the land which the Lord swore to your forefathers to give them, as the days of heaven above the earth.		כאלְמַ֨עַן יִרְבּ֤וּ יְמֵיכֶם֙ וִימֵ֣י בְנֵיכֶ֔ם עַ֚ל הָֽאֲדָמָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר נִשְׁבַּ֧ע יְהֹוָ֛ה לַֽאֲבֹֽתֵיכֶ֖ם לָתֵ֣ת לָהֶ֑ם כִּימֵ֥י הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם עַל־הָאָֽרֶץ:
22 For if you keep all these commandments which I command you to do them, to love the Lord, your God, to walk in all His ways, and to cleave to Him,		כבכִּי֩ אִם־שָׁמֹ֨ר תִּשְׁמְר֜וּן אֶת־כָּל־הַמִּצְוָ֣ה הַזֹּ֗את אֲשֶׁ֧ר אָֽנֹכִ֛י מְצַוֶּ֥ה אֶתְכֶ֖ם לַֽעֲשׂתָ֑הּ לְאַֽהֲבָ֞ה אֶת־יְהֹוָ֧ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֛ם לָלֶ֥כֶת בְּכָל־דְּרָכָ֖יו וּלְדָבְקָה־בֽוֹ:
23 then the Lord will drive out all these nations from before you, and you will possess nations greater and stronger than you.		כגוְהוֹרִ֧ישׁ יְהֹוָ֛ה אֶת־כָּל־הַגּוֹיִ֥ם הָאֵ֖לֶּה מִלִּפְנֵיכֶ֑ם וִירִשְׁתֶּ֣ם גּוֹיִ֔ם גְּדֹלִ֥ים וַֽעֲצֻמִ֖ים מִכֶּֽם:
24 Every place upon which the soles of your feet will tread, will be yours: from the desert and the Lebanon, from the river, the Euphrates River, and until the western sea, will be your boundary.		כדכָּל־הַמָּק֗וֹם אֲשֶׁ֨ר תִּדְרֹ֧ךְ כַּף־רַגְלְכֶ֛ם בּ֖וֹ לָכֶ֣ם יִֽהְיֶ֑ה מִן־הַמִּדְבָּ֨ר וְהַלְּבָנ֜וֹן מִן־הַנָּהָ֣ר נְהַר־פְּרָ֗ת וְעַד֙ הַיָּ֣ם הָאַֽחֲר֔וֹן יִֽהְיֶ֖ה גְּבֻֽלְכֶֽם:
25 No man will stand up before you; the Lord your God will cast the fear of you and the dread of you on all the land upon which you tread, as He spoke to you.		כהלֹֽא־יִתְיַצֵּ֥ב אִ֖ישׁ בִּפְנֵיכֶ֑ם פַּחְדְּכֶ֨ם וּמוֹרַֽאֲכֶ֜ם יִתֵּ֣ן | יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֗ם עַל־פְּנֵ֤י כָל־הָאָ֨רֶץ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר תִּדְרְכוּ־בָ֔הּ כַּֽאֲשֶׁ֖ר דִּבֶּ֥ר לָכֶֽם:

DEUTERONOMIO 11

13 Y será, si escuchas mis mandamientos que te mando hoy que ames al Señor, tu Dios, y le sirvas con todo tu corazón y con toda tu alma,

14 Daré la lluvia de tu tierra a su tiempo, la lluvia temprana y la lluvia tardía, y recogerás tu grano, tu vino y tu aceite.

15 Y daré pasto en tu campo para tu ganado, y comerás y te saciarás.

16 Tengan cuidado, no sea que se extravíe su corazón, y se aparten y adoren a dioses extraños y se postran ante ellos.

Bamidbar – Numbers – Chapter 15

37 The Lord spoke to Moses, saying:		לזוַיֹּ֥אמֶר יְהֹוָ֖ה אֶל־משֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר:
38 Speak to the children of Israel and you shall say to them that they shall make for themselves fringes on the corners of their garments, throughout their generations, and they shall affix a thread of sky blue [wool] on the fringe of each corner.		לחדַּבֵּ֞ר אֶל־בְּנֵ֤י יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ וְאָֽמַרְתָּ֣ אֲלֵהֶ֔ם וְעָשׂ֨וּ לָהֶ֥ם צִיצִ֛ת עַל־כַּנְפֵ֥י בִגְדֵיהֶ֖ם לְדֹֽרֹתָ֑ם וְנָֽתְנ֛וּ עַל־צִיצִ֥ת הַכָּנָ֖ף פְּתִ֥יל תְּכֵֽלֶת:

41 I am the Lord, your God, Who took you out of the land of Egypt to be your God; I am the Lord, your God.		מאאֲנִ֞י יְהֹוָ֣ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֗ם אֲשֶׁ֨ר הוֹצֵ֤אתִי אֶתְכֶם֙ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם לִֽהְי֥וֹת לָכֶ֖ם לֵֽאלֹהִ֑ים אֲנִ֖י יְהֹוָ֥ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶֽם:

NÚMEROS 15

37 El Señor habló a Moisés, diciendo:

38 Habla a los hijos de Israel y diles que se harán flecos en las esquinas de sus vestidos por sus generaciones, y pondrán un hilo de [lana] celeste en el borde de cada esquina.

39 Esto les servirá de franja, y cuando lo vean, recordarán todos los mandamientos del Señor para cumplirlos, y no se desviarán en pos de su corazón y de sus ojos, tras lo cual se extraviarán.

40 para que te acuerdes y cumplas todos mis mandamientos y seas santo a tu Dios.

41 Yo soy el Señor, tu Dios, que te saqué de la tierra de Egipto para ser tu Dios; Yo soy el Señor, tu Dios.

En la Sucá, todos somos uno porque, en esencia, somos un solo ser.

Pero aquello que está fuera de nuestra esencia, aquello que nos convierte en los individuos que somos, todavía no es uno.

En la unidad de Etrog, Lulav, Hadasim y Aravot, todos somos uno como individuos distintos, y nos complementamos para formar un todo único y armonioso.

Pero permanecemos separados en el núcleo, unidos solo superficialmente.

Cuando las dos mitzvot se unen, entonces somos uno en todos los sentidos: la unidad de nuestra esencia resuena en toda la armonía de nuestra diversidad.

Y así será en toda la creación, como una sola sinfonía, pronto, muy pronto.

Zacarías 14 (16) Y acontecerá que cada nación que quede de todas las que vinieron contra Jerusalem subiran cada año para adorar al Rey, al Eterno de los Ejercitos, y a guardar las fiestas de las Cabañas (Sucot).

14 And they found written in the Torah that the Lord had commanded by the hand of Moses that the Children of Israel dwell in booths on the festival in the seventh month.		ידוַיִּמְצְא֖וּ כָּת֣וּב בַּתּוֹרָ֑ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר צִוָּ֚ה יְהֹוָה֙ בְּיַד־מֹשֶׁ֔ה אֲשֶׁר֩ יֵֽשְׁב֨וּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֧ל בַּסֻּכּ֛וֹת בֶּחָ֖ג בַּחֹ֥דֶשׁ הַשְּׁבִיעִֽי:

16 And the people went forth and brought [them] and made booths for themselves, each one on his roof and in their courts and in the courts of the House of God, and in the square of the Water Gate, and in the square of the Gate of Ephraim.		טזוַיֵּצְא֣וּ הָעָם֘ וַיָּבִיאוּ֒ וַיַּֽעֲשׂוּ֩ לָהֶ֨ם סֻכּ֜וֹת אִ֚ישׁ עַל־גַּגּוֹ֙ וּבְחַצְרֹ֣תֵיהֶ֔ם וּבְחַצְר֖וֹת בֵּ֣ית הָֽאֱלֹהִ֑ים וּבִרְחוֹב֙ שַׁ֣עַר הַמַּ֔יִם וּבִרְח֖וֹב שַׁ֥עַר אֶפְרָֽיִם:

Nehemias 8:13-18

Y al día segundo se reunieron los jefes de las casa paternas de todo el pueblo, los sacerdotes y los levitas ante Esdras para prestar atención a la palabra de la Ley.

(14) Y hallaron escrito en la Ley como el Eterno había ordenado por medio de Moisés, que los hijos de Israel vivieran en cabañas durante las fiestas del me séptimo.

(15) Y que proclamaran en todas las ciudades y en Jerusalem diciendo: “Id al monte y recoged ramas de olivo, ramas de arrayán, ramas de palma y ramas de arboles frondosos, para hacer enramadas conforme a lo escrito”. (16) De tal suerte que fue el pueblo y recogió las ramas, e hicieron cabañas, cada cual sobre el propio techo de su casa, en sus patios, en los atrios de la Casa de Dios y en la plaza deportan de Efraín (Efráyim).

(17) Y toda la congregación de los que habían retornado del cautiverio hicieron cabañas de ramas y vivieron en ellas, cosa que no habían hecho los hijos de Israel desde los dias de Josué(Yehoshúa), hijo de Nun. Y reino gran alegría.

(18) Y diariamente, desde el primer día hasta el ultimo, se leyó el libro de la Ley de Dios y celebraron (así) la fiesta durante siete días y al octavo hubo solemne asamblea, conforme a lo preceptuado.

Vayikra – Leviticus – Chapter 23

33 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,		לגוַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה אֶל־משֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר:
34 Speak to the children of Israel, saying: On the fifteenth day of this seventh month, is the Festival of Succoth, a seven day period to the Lord.		לדדַּבֵּ֛ר אֶל־בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לֵאמֹ֑ר בַּֽחֲמִשָּׁ֨ה עָשָׂ֜ר י֗וֹם לַחֹ֤דֶשׁ הַשְּׁבִיעִי֙ הַזֶּ֔ה חַ֧ג הַסֻּכּ֛וֹת שִׁבְעַ֥ת יָמִ֖ים לַֽיהֹוָֽה:
35 On the first day, it is a holy occasion; you shall not perform any work of labor.		להבַּיּ֥וֹם הָֽרִאשׁ֖וֹן מִקְרָא־קֹ֑דֶשׁ כָּל־מְלֶ֥אכֶת עֲבֹדָ֖ה לֹ֥א תַֽעֲשֽׂוּ:
36 [For] a seven day period, you shall bring a fire offering to the Lord. On the eighth day, it shall be a holy occasion for you, and you shall bring a fire offering to the Lord. It is a [day of] detention. You shall not perform any work of labor.		לושִׁבְעַ֣ת יָמִ֔ים תַּקְרִ֥יבוּ אִשֶּׁ֖ה לַֽיהֹוָ֑ה בַּיּ֣וֹם הַשְּׁמִינִ֡י מִקְרָא־קֹ֩דֶשׁ֩ יִֽהְיֶ֨ה לָכֶ֜ם וְהִקְרַבְתֶּ֨ם אִשֶּׁ֤ה לַֽיהֹוָה֙ עֲצֶ֣רֶת הִ֔וא כָּל־מְלֶ֥אכֶת עֲבֹדָ֖ה לֹ֥א תַֽעֲשֽׂוּ:

Levítico 23:33 – 44

(33)Y le dijo el Eterno a Moisés:

(34) “Diles a los Hijos de Israel: El día quince del mes séptimo será la festividad de las cabañas (Sucot) para el Eterno, que durará siete días.

(35) El primer día será de santa convocación: No haréis trabajo servil.

12 And on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, there shall be a holy convocation for you; you shall not perform any mundane work, and you shall celebrate a festival to the Lord for seven days.

18 And if the family of Egypt does not go up and does not come, it shall not [rain] upon them. The plague [on Egypt] will be [the same as] that with which the Lord will plague the nations who do not go up to celebrate the festival of Tabernacles.		יחוְאִם־מִשְׁפַּ֨חַת מִצְרַ֧יִם לֹא־תַֽעֲלֶ֛ה וְלֹ֥א בָאָ֖ה וְלֹ֣א עֲלֵיהֶ֑ם תִּֽהְיֶ֣ה הַמַּגֵּפָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר יִגֹּ֚ף יְהֹוָה֙ אֶת־הַגּוֹיִ֔ם אֲשֶׁר֙ לֹ֣א יַֽעֲל֔וּ לָחֹ֖ג אֶת־חַ֥ג הַסֻּכּֽוֹת:

Zacarías 14

(16) Y acontecerá que cada nación que quede de todas las que vinieron contra Jerusalem subirá cada año a adorar al Rey, al Eterno de los Ejércitos, y a guardar las fiestas de las Cabañas (Sucot).

(17) Y Será que si cualquiera de las familias de la tierra no suba a Jerusalem para dorar al Rey, al Eterno de los Ejércitos, sobre ellos no habrá lluvia.

(18) Si no suba la familia de Egipto y no venga, no tendrá crecida el Nilo y sufrirá la misma plaga con la que el Eterno herirá a las naciones que no suban a celebrar la fiesta de las Cabañas.
