Shabbat Shalom!

Bendicion de las velas

Al encender las velas de Shabat, la mujer dice la siguiente bendición:

Baruj atá Ado-nai, E-lo-he-nu Melej HaOlam asher kideshanu bemitzvotav, vetzivanu lehadlik ner shel Shabat.

Bendito eres, Oh Señor, Di-s nuestro, Rey del Universo, que nos has santificado con tus preceptos y nos ordenaste el encendido de las velas de Shabat.Blessed are you, Adonai our God, Sovereign of the universe, who hallows us with mitzvot, commanding us to kindle the light of Shabbat.

Si con el inicio de Shabat, acontece el comienzo de una festividad, al encender las velas la mujer dice la siguiente bendición:

Baruj atá Ado-nai, E-lo-he-nu Melej HaOlam asher kideshanu bemitzvotav, vetzivanu lehadlik ner shel Shabat veshel Iom Tov.

Bendito eres, Oh Señor, Di-s nuestro, Rey del Universo, que nos has santificado con tus preceptos y nos ordenaste el encendido de las velas de Shabat y de Iom Tov.Blessed are you, Adonai our God, Sovereign of the universe, who hallows us with mitzvot, commanding us to kindle the light of Shabbat Iom Tov

Kidush de la Noche de Shabat

Se llena la copa de Kiddush con vino o jugo de uva y se recita:

V’shamru v’nei Yisrael et HaShabbat,
laasot et HaShabbat l’dorotam
b’rit olam.
Beini uvein b’nei Yisrael
ot hi l’olam,
ki sheishet yamim asah Adonai
et hashamayim v’et haaretz,
uvayom hashvi-i shavat vayinafash.

The people of Israel shall keep Shabbat,
observing Shabbat throughout the ages as a covenant for all time.
It shall be a sign for all time between Me and the people of Israel,
for in six days Adonai made heaven and earth,
and on the seventh day God ceased from work and was refreshed.

El pueblo de Israel guardarán el Shabat,
observar el Shabat a través de las edades como un pacto de todos los tiempos.
Será una señal para siempre entre mí y los hijos de Israel,
porque en seis días hizo Adonai cielo y la tierra,
y en el séptimo día Dios cesó de trabajar y reposó.

La bendicion del vino:

Baruch atah, Adonai Eloheinu, Melech haolam, borei p’ri hagafen.

Praise to You, Adonai our God, Sovereign of the universe, Creator of the fruit of the vine.

Bendito eres tu, Adonai nuestro D-s, Rey del universo, creador del fruto de la vid.

Bendición a los Hijos

Luego del Kidush, los padres bendicen a sus hijos vivenciando así, la milenaria tradición. Con sus manos por encima de la cabeza de cada hijo, dice la siguiente bendición:

After Kidush, the parents bless their kids. They put their hands on the head of their kids, and bless them saying:

For boys / Para los varones:

Y’simcha Elohim k’Efrayim v’che-Menasheh.

May God make you like Ephraim and Menasheh.

Quiera Di-s hacerte como Efráim y Menashé.

For girls / Para las mujeres:

Y’simeich Elohim k’Sarah, Rivkah, Rachel, v’Leah.

May God make you like Sarah, Rebecca, Rachel and Leah.

Quiera Di-s hacerte como Sará, Rivká Rajel y Leá.

Despues todos juntos / Then to all children:

Y’varechecha Adonai V’yish’m’recha.
Ya’er Adonai panav eilecha vichuneka.
Yisa Adonai panav eilecha v’yasem l’cha shalom.

May God Bless you and guard you.
May the light of God shine upon you, and may God be gracious to you.
May the presence of God be with you and give you peace.

Que Di-s te bendiga y te proteja, que resplandezca Su Rostro hacia ti y te dé gracia, que vuelva Su Rostro hacia ti y te conceda la paz.
